More recruiting news. San Ramon Valley QB Zach Kline has orally committed to Cal, he confirmed Monday. Kline is only a junior, so he’ll be part of the 2012 recruiting class for the Bears.
“Really, I wanted to be a Bear. I’ve wanted to be a Bear since I was four years old,” Kline said. “I want to stay in California and it’s the best public university in the nation. You can’t get better than Cal.”
Kline said he got an offer over the weekend and accepted immediately. He said that he’d already been offered by Oregon State and had been hearing from Alabama, LSU, Florida, Washington, Duke and Notre Dame.
“I’m super excited. I got my dream school that I wanted to go for the longest time,” Kline said. “Now I can focus on school and being a Wolf.”
Kline will actually join the guy he played against last Friday, Mitty-San Jose’s Kyle Boehm. Boehm is a 2011 commit to Cal. San Ramon Valley won that game 16-13 on a field goal in the final minute.
