  1. renegades10 Says:

Pretty good overall. I would switch a few teams around.

    1. DLS
    2. SRV
    3. MV
    4. Cal
    5. DV
    6. Foothill
    7. Concord
    8. Encinal
    9. Mack
    10. Alhambra
    11. Heritage
    12. JL
    13. AV
    14. Granada
    15. Freedom

Pinole is a border team, but that tie with Sequoia should drop them below Logan, AV, Granada, and Freedom as well as some of those other teams in honorable mention.

A team that is dangerously close to dropping out of the top 5 is Deer Valley. They had a solid win way up North vs. Paradise, but were dangerously close to losing to Washington, which has been handled by both Cal and Amador. They also struggled against Fremont before finally pulling away in the 2nd half. They play College Park this week, another team that was dominated by Cal 45-3. Should this game be close, DV has to drop from the top 5. After these early games, it looks like the BVAL is wide open this year.

This week, we finally find out what Heritage has, when they face off against Logan on the turf in Union City, which will be followed next week by the high-flying Minutemen of Concord. The Patriots should be tested in all facets of the game over the next two weeks. If they want to be in the top 10, they need to win.

Of course DLS has the big game this week against Tony Sanchez and the Gorman Gaels. But there are two other games that I would point to as big games between NCS teams this week.

First is Heritage @ Logan. The Patriots want to establish themselves as contenders and not pretenders, while Logan looks to right the ship after giving up a 20-0 lead against Foothill last week and get ready for league play which opens next week.

Second is B-High @ Pitt. If you had told me that these two teams would have a combined 1 win coming into this game, I would have thought you were crazy. But that is the situation at hand. Berkeley is coming off a close loss to DIII/DIV power Marin Catholic in which they had the lead with about ten minutes to go in the game. Pitt is coming off an inspired loss as well against Monte Vista where they had the lead at several points in the game. However, this game now takes on new meaning as both teams need to get something going this season to help potentially push them into the playoffs. I am sure that ever since that loss last year the Pirates had this date circled and the game is at Pirate stadium. Pitt will need to cut down on the mistakes, while Berkeley will need some help from their offense. This will be another slugfest.

  2. BVAL Fan Says:

Heritage 42 Logan 12….People will see that Heritage is for real this week.

College Park will play up to their ability this week and surprise Deer Valley.

  3. norcalfball Says:

i agree on heitage…but college park will not beat deer valley..you have to throw the ball to beat deer valley just like cal high…cal and dv are very tough matchups for college park because they cant throw and cal and dv are so physical upfront

  4. renegades10 Says:

Heritage might win this week, but it will certainly not be by thirty points. More like ten or fourteen at the most. Expect a good hard fought game, not a blowout.

  5. KillerD Says:

    1. Alhambra should NOT be in the Top 15, maybe not in the Top 20.

    2. MacDaddy should be in the Top 8

    3. I would take Pinole over Alhambra and put Pinole at number 14

  6. BleacherCoach Says:

renegades10 after seeing Heritage, Foothill and Encinal in action (live the whole games) I would say it should go Heritage at 6 , Foothill at 8 and then Encinal at 11. Heritage is a very good team.

  7. FBfan925 Says:

I completely disagree James logan is a better team…
Heritage doesn’t have a tough schedule at all… i c heritage losing to James logan… Because there strength of schdule doesnt compare to other teams in and out of their league

  8. FBfan925 Says:

    Heritage schedule:
    Novato 41-14

    Montgomery 41-16

    Kennedy 61-7

Trust me James Logan is not one of these type of schools

  9. renegades10 Says:

BleacherCoach, here’s my issue with Heritage is that they have two good wins by name recognition only, but both of those teams are not good teams this year as well as JFK who is not good at all. They have dominated all three clearly, but they don’t have that win that say they are for real. They have two chances back to back. I’m not so convinced they are going to beat Logan handily.

KillerD, Alhambra is another one that is dangerously close to dropping, forgot to mention that, however I want to see how Healdsburg does against Acalanes this week. Some teams in my rankings have opportunities to prove themselves this week. We will see.

  10. BleacherCoach Says:

renegades10 I agree with Heritages two wins over a down Novato and Montgomery team may not look super but those two teams are not THAT bad. How do you justify putting the Jets above them with only 1 win over a negitve rated team and a blow out loss ?

I can see what the writers and coaches see in Foothill based on the teams they beat , However is you take the common foe (Novato) and given I watched both of those games I would say Heritage is the Better team

  11. renegades10 Says:

I get what you are saying, but at this point it’s too early for me to move up a team that as a program still hasn’t gotten that big win. Beat Logan and it changes. Most early rankings and this includes mine are partially based on last year’s performance as well as the history of the program. Encinal over the last two years has been a good program and has some notable wins. Their loss to Serra is nothing to be ashamed of and they were down only by a score for most of the game. Look, I understand what you are saying and Heritage has a chance to prove they belong up there with the big boys.

  12. c.sparks Says:

hahah renegades, please your probably have the most knowledge on this board about alot of teams.. please dont let this biased dude get in your year, I agree with “Heritages two wins over a down Novato and Montgomery”.. get out of here pleaseeeeeeee .. novato guy just make playoffs

  13. Reggie Hammond Says:

BleacherCoach do what you do best hate on Encinal. You team has not been competitive in 3 games but you still want to hate on the Jets.

  14. FBfan925 Says:

Yea beating up on schools that dont have any business playing heritage… Just is kinda weird…. got to see what happens with heritage… but i wouldnt be surprised if they struggle with league due to who they play in out of league games same goes for Liberty because everyone else in league is challenging themselves… Last time i checked those schools dont compare to schools out here.

All im saying is this week is not going to be an easy win

  15. BleacherCoach Says:

Reggie Hammond and C horse I am not hating on the Jets I have posted for months that they will go 10-2 I dont know how that is being down on the Jets.

However the Jetsa are 1-1 there win coming at Ecwhich is a -14.7 rated team and there loss is to Serra a 43 plus rated team. If the Jets played Heritage 34.7 Foothill 34 or the Bells 41.9 they could easily be 0-3 as well but go ahead pich your easy ass non -league teams and get left out of Carson forever.

  16. Reggie Hammond Says:

You went to Carson & lost. Whats honorable about that? We were the best picked to go to state & lose like every other North Bay team? I’m not down with the Buffalo Bills if you get to the Bowl take it home or stay home.

Is State a goal for EHS this year? I don’t know. Doesn’t seem like it. Is state a goal for Novato this year? No & Brackett is on campus so must have know that for 8-10 months. But your coach set up a lot of kids to embarass themselves.

  17. PERKIN Says:

I see that Eureka lost to Shasta. Any word on the game logger fans? You guys shocked how’d the game go?

  18. KillerD Says:

KillerD’s Top 20 notes and quotes for this week:

    1. Healdsburg will beat Acalanes. Home turf the deciding factor. Acalanes will have to throw well to win and they cannot do it. Healdsburg by 14.

    2. Alhambra will lose to El Molino on the road. That makes two teams from Sonoma County league the Dogs will lose to this non league season. El Molino remains undefeated.

    3. DLS will roll vs. BG. Spartans by 21.

    4. Hayward will revvvvv up and Stun the Mustangs at home. Farmers win recalls their glory days of the late 90′s and early Millenia before they enter league play.

    5. SRV by 30 over Washington, the Huskies have tumbled and it has NOthing to do with coaching.

    6. Cowboys remain Unbeaten after getting the win vs. Dougherty Valley. Repeat – Cowboys remain Unbeaten. Go Livermore!

    7. Granada hangs 50 big ones on the Trojans. Now the Castro Valley School Board begins to SERIOUSLY RECONSIDER their Ploy to join the EBAL in 2012, as the CV parents storm the Admin building this Monday morning demanding to remain in the HAAL forever!!!!!!!

    8. Berkeley beats Pitt and hardly anybody cares about it in 2010 what a Major disappointment this showdown is this season

    9. Jets by 28 over Alameda, Hornets bad this year due to internal strife

    10. Richmond Oilers defeat a better Kennedy team. And it has been 56 years since the Richmond Oilers and the Livermore Cowboys have Both been 3-0 to begin the season. A good Richmond team is a treat to watch and if you’ve never done so they are worth making the drive for. Go Oilers!

    11. CSD Fremont moves to 4-0 this week after battling a tough Texas SD team in a payback game. Eagles are running and throwing at will and will enter league play undefeated

    12. Salesian gets the harder than expected win at home in Richmond vs. St. Mary’s. Nightengale has things to prove and will eek out a win vs. Panthers

    13. Moreau crushes SLZ at home in Hayward. Mariners move to 3-0 and looking to challenge for BSAL title

    14. Broncos of Northgate storm into Las Lomas, get the W and remain unbeaten. Knights fan wondering why LL is not good this year and again it has NOthing to do with Coaching

    15. Mt. Eden roadies over to Capuchino and the Monarchs get their first win of the 2010 season.

    16. BOD goes to 2-1 after crushing a sadly downtrodden Skyline program, who last year beat BOD. Skyline has Still not recovered from losing Coach Beam and will they ever?

    17. Fortuna beats McKinleyville and the Tuna is looking to go 6-4 or 7-3 and enter NCS playoffs, it is sad to see their league collapse into only 3 Teams!!!!!!!!

    18. Redwood pounds Drake to become 3-1. I Told you Redwood would be good

    19. MC struggles but manages to beat Tamalpais. Tam is good but MC simply EXHAUSTED after beating Berkeley

    20. Heritage beats Logan. Heritage Beats Logan. HERITAGE BEATS LOGAN.

Have a great one this week.

  19. KillerD Says:

Eureka is good but Shasta is a premier Northern California school and program. Major great facilities, numbers and program.

No shame in Eureka losing and I would expect them to lose to Shasta 9 out of 10 times they played.

  20. MoreauFan1 Says:

    KillerD,
what is your projection for Moreau’s record at the end of the year, i know you had us losing to Galileo. Do our performances change any impressions?

  21. HighGuy Says:

anybody wanna predict the rest of the season for

    Alameda
    San Lorenzo
    Encinal

also decide wether or not they will be playoff bound and why

  22. KillerD Says:

I went against my GUT with Moreau last week and Should have stuck to my pre season 3-0 for Moreau. my bad.

I have to sign off for the week fellas, I have a family member with health issues and need to help a lot.

    Good luck this week gentlemen.

  23. Lumberjack Says:

I just want to see how the game between Logan and Heritage turns out. It doesn’t matter who played who and strength of schedules will decide the outcome of a game. FBfan you are starting to make it sound like Heritage just finished playing De Anza and Mission SJ. How does a team know how good the other teams will be when they plan their schedule. The coaches go off recent history. Novato and Montgomery have been successful in recent years. CalPreps has Hertiage SOS at 6.3. Cal High has the same SOS. I hear no complaints there. And talking about bad games getting scheduled, how about Miramonte scheduling Mission SJ. Score ended up to be 62-0. I havent heard a lick about that. Let’s let the games play out and talk about them when completed.

  24. ManDown Says:

MoreauFan1, Do you like your chances of winning the BSAL title this year? You guys are doing good down there, its good to see up and coming programs.

  25. Billjohnson Says:

miramonte come on msj is absolutely terrible. I cant c 1reason 2 play dem. Miramonte campo game will decide who wins da league.

  26. Football Watcher Says:

    Mandown,

It looks like the administration at Moreau is finally getting it, all of their sport programs are starting to improve. They move to 3-0 and challenge for BSAL title.

  27. renegades10 Says:

Lumberjack, both Novato and Montgomery are traditionally good teams, last year both went to the playoffs and Montgomery lost in the finals. This year, however; both are not as good. The other knock against Heritage is that they don’t have that big win whether it’s against league opponents Pitt or DV or out of league opponents like say the two they have coming up. It’s early in the season if they keep winning, they keep moving on up. You are right that it’s hard to say how good a team will be sometimes and the Heritage coach did try and get some good competition.

  28. Lumberjack Says:

Thank you Renegade for your additional input.

  29. EB Football Coach Says:

How did Heritage and Liberty schedule soft teams? Novato, Montgomery, kennedy, Logan, Concord for Heritage.
Clayton Valley, Livermore, American, Miramonte, and Fremont(OAL Champions) for Liberty.

Neither team has pitt or dv’s schedule, but neither team has pitt or dv’s tradition/history/past performance.

Neither team went out and scheduled cupcakes, either. I mean, besides kennedy and livermore, those teams were all playoff teams last year.

Both teams tried to set up a schedule that would be tough but not devastating, because if you do that and your team doesn’t pan out, you end up like Washington/Pitt 0-3 with the possibility of having 4 losses headed into league.

In some leagues, that’s not too bad (MVAL, ACCAL, HAAL) but if you do that in the BVAL or EBAL, there’s a good chance you lose the kids for the season.

  30. EB Football Coach Says:

From everything I’ve heard, Logan is small, but athletic and fast. From everything I’ve seen, Heritage is BIG AND athletic and fast.

Good luck against that Heritage run game.

  31. MV Alum Says:

Lumberjack I think Heritage should have kept their games with MV even thou they lost last yr (regular season and playoffs) I thought they had some very good skill position players and could have competed with them ,I think they will beat Logan but agree with R10 it should be a good game I see Heritage by 2 TD’s. As far as Cal, Livermore, Granada, and AV goes I like the fact that they have won but I think the competition speaks for itself (Washington is not a good team, CV please shouldn’t be playing any EBAL teams, College Park same as CV read above), really once we get into league play things will shake out better that is what I am looking forward to there are going to be some great games.

  32. Lance Says:

Heritage wanted to keep the game. MV is the team that did not want to play a second year.

  33. Prep Fan Says:

Cal High scheduled Washington & College Park, 2 teams that advanced in the D1 payoffs a year ago, and both were predicted by the Times to win their leagues this year. Most people thought both teams would present more of challenge to the Grizzlies. I don’t know how or why Castro Valley got on their schedule, but with the grueling league schedule of the EBAL, and their 1-2 preseason last year, I can understand one patsy. Plus, the schools are fairly close to one another. The Miramonte-MSJ game does not make sense on any level.

  34. Prep Fan Says:

I think the Hayward game is MV’s patsy for the same reasons stated above.

  35. EBfootball Says:

Please don’t mistake me for EB Football Coach

  36. outsider Says:

From what I heard Castro Valley requested to play Cal High, possibly to bolster their petition to move to the EBAL if they did well. See number 7 under post 18 above.

  37. FBfan925 Says:

Lumberjack it does matter in every aspect, The strength of Schedule and what the score against that team LOOK AT THE SCORES thats how you can tell if the team is challenging themselves to thier potential… It also matters in playoffs who you play in pre season… because it determines your seeding.. it does matter.. You cant really say heritage had beaten a big opponent cause they havent… blowing out every team they played… i bet you Pittsburg would get a better seeding because they actually played tough teams even though they lost (Saying that they already won their league) As far as im concered heritages tough opponents are JL and Concord… If they beat both these teams then its a different story….

    EB football,

Liberty: We all know clayton valley was down, so is American who barely by the skin of their teeth made playoffs, Fremont Doesnt play in a very tough league… when all the teams in that league are not very organized… All i c is miramonte being the tougher team out of all of them… i dont understand how thats a tougher schedule it doesnt make sense

  38. BVAL Fan Says:

Been reading a lot of good comments!! I agree Heritage needs to step up the next two weeks against Logan and Concord. I think they will win…probably not a blowout.

  39. #1 Prep football fan Says:

I just wanted to put it out there… that Skyline actually has a very talented team and may surprise down the road and upset a couple of teams. They are better than last years team and they can hang with Hayward again this year!

  40. #1 Prep football fan Says:

BTW, on Heritage – They’ve won the games they expected to win. Everyone has to agree that redgardless of who they beat that the these wins should supply a huge boost of confidence to the team. Sometimes there’s nothing better than going into a game expecting to win. No team wants to walk into a game with doubt because if that goes unnoticed, coaches can’t control that and bad things can happen.

  41. BleacherCoach Says:

Reggie Hammond in regard to your post #16 what team with the Jets record the last 3 years doesn’t think bowl berth ,if they are not why even play.

As far as Novato is concered and I have posted this before twe do not know what the series are setup for. There is a good chance Coach Brackett is setting up for next season when his team matures never the less it is still great expierance. Novato will be a playoff team this year and they still could win the MCAL ,there is alot of football yet to be played

  42. FBfan925 Says:

Alright then dont be surprised if your ranked the last seed of playooffs

  43. Billjohnson Says:

Bleachercoach novato wont beat marin wit dat dink n dunk qb. Looks like novato will have 2 go on da road come ncs time cant c dem gettn a top 4 seed.

  44. EB Football Coach Says:

    FBfan925:

What exactly is your specific concern with Heritage’s schedule or even Liberty’s schedule?

Liberty isn’t expected to be anything special. Their schedule is tougher than last year. Who would you have them play? Clovis East, Rocklin, and a trip to Servite? Do you think that gives the student-athletes there a legitimate chance for success? Why you’re even concerned with that team’s schedule is beyond me.

Heritage, on the other hand, attempted a difficult schedule but ended up playing perennially competitive teams in down years. At that, even Logan isn’t what it was two years ago. Concord is the big test.

That’s the best part of high school football. Very few teams, year in and year out, are going to remain at the same high level. Athletes move in and out of programs, coaching staffs fluctuate, school demographics shift.

As far as getting the last seed, I said it above, a good team from the MVAL, HAAL, ACCAL can make a brutal non-league schedule, because those leagues aren’t very good, top to bottom. But look at Pittsburg, they need to win their next two games. If they enter league play with 4 losses, say they beat Antioch and Liberty, they now have to win two of three, Heritage, Freedom, and DV.

Not that they can’t. They are good, but that pre-league schedule was BRUTAL and stacked the odds against them.

  45. Billjohnson Says:

skyline? please they stink!dey may not win a game til dey play castlemont. Wat program has fallen off more bloggers skyline or san leandro?

  46. ManDown Says:

Thats hard to say because Skyline would go undefeated some years under Beam and win the OAL every year but SL was almost a lock to play De La Salle every year in the Championship game. Hard to say but if I had to pick one it would be SL

  47. FBfan925 Says:

    EB Football:

Well tell me why people think Liberty is going to do something big this year…. This is why i bring this up and tell people that, to prove them wrong… So you should tell everybody that theirs nothing special for this year for them…and about the schedules, I already explained ^^^^ up their why its so important… and if its beyond you than whats really important?

and JL beat SL who made playoffs last year and the Arroyo Dons… and they also gave foothill a fight…
    JL still got it.

and do you agree with me that the oakland schools arent as good as people think they are… With Mack Beating Pittsburg..

But i think pittsburg can win against some teams in league all they have to do is win five games… and they are in contention for playoffs

  48. CHALKtalk Says:

i only remember skyline going undefeated in 89′
    skyline has fallen from grace

    sl is still competitive

  49. FBfan925 Says:

    * With an exception of mack beating pittsburg

  50. FBfan925 Says:

How can you say that about skyline when they got shutout by pittman and got killed by concord hahahahaha i dont get it

  51. CHALKtalk Says:

IF THE OAL TEAMS WENT SPREAD ALL U SO CALLED POWER HOUSE SCHOOLS WOULD GET UR ASSES KICKED NO SCHOOL HAS 4 GOOD DB’S (SPREAD THE SLOW GUYS OUT AND WATCH UR ATHLETES WORK IN SPACE! STOP TRYING 2 RUN THE BALL WHEN UR GETTING OUT WEIGH BY 500 LBS CROSS THE BOARD.
please OAL school im begging u

  52. EB Football Coach Says:

No, I don’t think Liberty will do anything special this year. Better than last, maybe win a league game (Antioch). Whoever has been saying that obviously doesn’t see things clearly.

I think that individual OAL teams CAN be very good, but are not consistently good. Look at Mack, this year vs last. Look at Castlemont two years ago vs the next year.

Also, if Pitt doesn’t beat Berkeley AND Granite Bay, they will not make the playoffs. Two year NCS runner-up to nothing.

  53. bleachercoach Says:

I don’t see Pitt beating Deer Valley or Heritage can the make the playoffs as a 5-5 team

  54. Jimmy Durkin Says:

Remember, Pitt only needs to go 3-2 in the BVAL to be playoff eligible. With their SOS, that might be enough.

  55. FBfan925 Says:

Yea i agree EB Football… i thought 5-5 team can go to the playoffs?

  56. FBfan925 Says:

Chalk talk, hahahha i know right almost all the OAL teams go under center I formation… pro style offenses… i know Berkeley can be alot better team if they weren’t so predictable with their play calling.. They run alot of dive plays everytime

  57. CHALKtalk Says:

    fbfan925
i just dont make good sense to try and pound the ball
when the weakest players r there DB”S take the line out of the game and watch how much success you have!
turn the game into 7on7 neutralize the line PLZ

  58. EB Football Coach Says:

5-5 is what you need to be. If Pitt beats Berkeley but loses to GB, they’ll be 1-4 going into league. If they lose to DV and lose to Heritage and they’d be 4-6 to end their season.

Jimmy – I thought NCS required teams to be over .500 on the year against similar size schools.

  59. FBfan925 Says:

i know.. but i think they should just put in more shot gun formations in the oakland schools… forget about the undercenter stuff

  60. Jimmy Durkin Says:

You need to be either .500 overall OR .500 against teams in your division OR .500 in your league. So even at 3-7 with a 3-2 record in the BVAL, Pitt would be playoff eligible.

  61. FBfan925 Says:

Yea if ur a 500 type of school ur not guaranteed to make the last seed, but those are the type of teams that get looked at for the last pick seeding

  62. Jimmy Durkin Says:

I don’t have the direct quote he gave me in front of me, but to paraphrase Galli, “You’ve just got to get to the dance. It doesn’t matter how you get there.”

That said, after watching Pitt for a second straight week, I think they are heading in the right direction and will at minimum finish at 5-5. I wouldn’t rule out them beating Deer Valley.

  63. renegades10 Says:

Two things I see with CV potentially moving to the EBAL. 1) Yes their football team is not very good; however, Livermore and Granada have also been doormats in the EBAL for a long time and not just in football. CV does have some solid teams in the other sports that would bring even more competitiveness to the EBAL. 2) This means football teams in the EBAL would only be able to schedule two non-league games assuming no one is shipped out of the league. I don’t like this because it dampens the ability to get some top notch competition in non-league. If CV were some football powerhouse I would feel differently. I have wondered if with another realignment happens, DLS would go independent in football again and if CV is allowed into the EBAL, I believe they will need to in order to play a strong enough schedule to have a shot at the open bowl game.

  64. renegades10 Says:

You can never really rule out Pitt. Come playoff time, they seem to find a way to put things together. NCS finalists 03, 08, 09 semifinalists is 04, 07 and been to NCS for I don’t even know how many years in a row. At least since 2002, maybe longer.

  65. MV Alum Says:

JIMMY I agree with you I thought Pitt played well against MV especially in the 1st half I think they will do well in League play..just my opinion

  66. FBfan925 Says:

Im not ruling out pittsburg but im also not ruling out anyone in that league because it seems the BVAL is up for grabs this year.. theirs not a team thats very Dominite..

I think Livermore should move to the bval because like the person said… they have been doormats and it would be closer to travel if they were in the BVAL.

  67. Matt Rempel Says:

DLS should go independent, especially if Castro Valley joins the EBAL. That way, DLS can schedule the best for all 10 games and not have to play a bunch of pointless league blowouts. They would still get the #1 seed in the NCS playoffs, so its no risk to them.

  68. EBfootball Says:

What about De La in the West Catholic?

  69. renegades10 Says:

Moving Livermore to the MVAL doesn’t make a ton of sense because they should be in the same league with Granada as they are in the same town. Not too mention all the MVAL teams are on the other side of the Sunol Grade.

EBfootball…That topic has come up a lot. Here is the thing, the WCAL is located in a different section entirely. The closest school in the CCS to DLS would either be the city schools to the West, or Milpitas to the South. There are a lot of schools in between DLS and the closest CCS schools. The realignment committee is not going to just take one school in the middle of the North Coast Section geographically, and put them into the CCS. It’s not so much about travel expenses as it is about logistics. The only way I see DLS moving into the CCS would be to move all the schools to the south which would include the EBAL and MVAL schools, or to move all the schools to the west which would include the BSAL, OAL, ACCAL. Just not logical and it would make the CCS an absolutely monster section compared to the NCS. Competitively, it makes a lot of sense, but logistics is the name of the game.

A few things for the next realignment,

1)What happens with Dougherty Valley? Keeping them in the DFAL at the start was smart so they could get their athletics moving, but pretty soon they probably should be moved into the EBAL given that they are in the same town as Cal-Hi and will be about the same size if I’m not mistaken.

    2) CV has expressed interest in being a part of the EBAL. What happens with that?

    3) There is going to be a new Catholic High School opening up in Livermore at some point. Their website still doesn’t have a set opening date yet, but the school was approved in 2005. Their goal is to be 1200 students co-ed. Where would they get placed if open by the time realignment happens?

    4) DLS in the EBAL has been fantastic for all sports (including football) as they regularly dominated the BVAL in almost of every sport. I have a hard time believing the committee will move them out of the EBAL as it’s the best league for them competitively in all sports, but if they add another school to the EBAL would they allow DLS to go back to being independent for football?

    5) What happens with the BFL? The league is only for football, is it time to place these schools in some of the all sport leagues rather than a separate one just for football?

  70. renegades10 Says:

If DLS goes independent they would have the same deal they had with the BVAL where the first five games they can schedule whoever they want, the last five games had to be against league opponents and the schools usually rotated through playing DLS except for Pitt and YV which I am pretty sure were always on the schedule.

  71. Loggerfaithful Says:

    #17 Perkin-
Despite the loss, it was a good game. One of those games that the team that had the ball at the end was going to win.
Eureka got down 14 early, then put up 20 points. Shasta tied it just before the half. In the third Eka scored and led 27-26. Between the teams, 5 TDs were scored in the fourth quarter.
Eureka did have a couple of fumbles and is often the case, that made the difference. The Shasta QB was elusive and made some big runs.

  72. FBfan925 Says:

I think it would be good to put livermore in the BVAL cause they might have a chance in that league more then the EBAL… and You can always schedule rivalry teams for out of league matchups… if you didnt know that… and i live in Brentwood area and it would be alot closer to play liberty or heritage rather then going to monta Vista or San Ramon

  73. Scl alum Says:

I pick Eureka to get a road win at Ukiah this weekend, and win their league again, Arcata or no Arcata.

  74. Wizard Says:

    New EBAL in 2012

Livermore is trying to get out and the district is making Granada go with them

Castro Valley is trying to get in because of all the other sports and the Administration wants to go to Danville and Pleasanton.

The EBAL will be a 7 team league

  75. BVAL Fan Says:

Keep talking about Pitt making playoffs with 500 record??? Who cares! I’ve seen them twice this year and they are a shell of who they use to be.

  76. renegades10 Says:

Wizard, if what you are saying is true, than it’s even more likely Dougherty Valley would be moved into the EBAL. That would bring it back to an eight team league.

  77. Wizard Says:

    R10

I hope your right because only De La would like the extra game because they could schedule another high profile game

Meeting for realignment is next month, we will see what happens

Word has Livermore and Granda going into the DFAL and not the BVAL, which I think is a mistake

  78. FBfan925 Says:

why would you move to the DFAL? they would fit well into the BVAL and not finish last all the time

  79. renegades10 Says:

i can’t see either of them going to the DFAL because both are D1 schools by enrollment whereas the majority if not all of the DFAL schools are DII and DIII by enrollment. You would just have another ACCAL and it wouldn’t help them try and get into the D1 playoffs at all unless they won league. Just like CP in the DVAL. They should either go to the MVAL or BVAL if they leave the EBAL.

  80. Wizard Says:

    R10

Agreed, but that is what I hear the AD’s and Principal’s are lining up. livermore is leading this, Granada wants to stay. But district will keep them in the same league so Granada is going

  81. Wait 4 It Says:

Castro Valley wants to go into the EBAL next season because of all the “violence” of the Hayward and San lorenzo area school district’s Spectators. lol I’d loved to see them go on the road and play McClymonds.

  82. huskies510 Says:

i don’t know how jl so much praises for beating sl who went to the playoffs last year. heritage beats novato who also went to the playoffs and beats on montgomery who went to the championship, but all you guys could say is that it’s an easy schedule. heritage just makes it look easy. i wonder what you guys will say when heritage beats jl? jl is a young team? excuses, excuses… deer valley struggled with washington and fremont, yet they are ranked high. dv was trailing both teams before they pulled the win. heritage will take bval.

  83. Prep Fan Says:

R10, Pitt did not make the NCS semifinals in 2007. They lost to Cal in the 1st round 21-7.

CV might be competitive in basketball in the EBAL, but would just take the place of Livermore in most others. I agree Livermore and Granada should not go over the hill to the MVAL, or mix it up with small schools in the DFAL. They should either stay put, or go to the BVAL. But the argument that the BVAL is closer is just wrong. The Pleasanton schools are just a shot up Stanley Blvd, which is much easier than travelling Vasco. And to get to Antioch would be worse than getting to SRV & MV. DL & Pitt are both a long way no matter how you slice it.

  84. renegades10 Says:

Huskies, please refer to the numerous posts above regarding Heritage’s schedule and why they are not ranked inside the top ten YET. I am guessing by your name that you are a Washington High fan and love ragging on Logan. If you haven’t noticed however both the writers poll and my own poll have Logan below Heritage. We are merely commenting on why Heritage is not a top ten team. As mentioned they have an opportunity to get their biggest win as a program against Logan, not to mention the next week against Concord.

Prepfan, you are right for whatever reason I thought Cal beat Pitt in the semifinals that year but forgot that good Logan team led by Rashad Evans in fact lost to Cal in the semis.

  85. Joe Says:

Heretage taking the league????? Way too early to tell. They have two tough teams coming up we will see.

  86. EB Football Coach Says:

Did anyone else see in the CC Times forum that someone went to a Deer Valley practice and then wrote up a full report on what he saw?

Whoever that jerk is, he should be banned from the forum. It’s one thing to break down game film, it’s entirely another to visit another team’s practice and then make a public report about what they are running for the upcoming week.

That’s a classless and cowardly thing to do.

  87. bbfan2 Says:

i can’t believe that Castro wants to leave HAAL because of supposed “violence” at the games, with the way their student section conducts themselves. that can’t be a reason.

  88. fast and physical Says:

they hang out on MLK Blvd all the time, Keep working Jackets

  89. BVAL Expert Says:

I agree its to early to say whos going to win the league titles yet.. i think the BVAL is wide open this year… Seems like some teams took a step back

  90. BVAL Expert Says:

This week should be a good week of games

  91. Bval Expert Says:

Yea this week should be very good week of games…

  92. Bval Fan Says:

Hopefully we can see some good football, in all the leagues

  93. 925 Says:

there’s no way the EBAL will allow Livermore to leave unless they are forced by Dougherty Valley’s hand. If DVHS improves tremendously then the EBAL would take them over Castro Valley because it would give Cal High a natural rival in the city of San Ramon. No Way they take 1 school by its lonesome, CVHS, and let LHS walk. They like to do things in pairs, like Renegades has said DLS would probably be allowed to go independent if Livermore made a serious threat to go to the BVAL.

Not that it is much more a competive inequity because they can’t even beat Liberty some years back-to-back. With the Brentwood and Oakley schools rising stars, as well as traditionally strong Pittsburg and Deer Valley, I don’t see that making much sense from a “making the playoffs” standpoint. They need to follow Granada’s model, installing a scheme that fits the talent/players, which they seem to be doing with Haubner now, and knock off one or more of the Pleasanton schools or Granada. Watch this talk will fade once administration sees how the team’s labor comes to fruition once they start getting league W’s. Most people have a short memory, but Cal High once was the Granada-type team, more talented up and coming and now they are a yearly consistent playoff strength team. Granada even beat SRV in 2005.. tell me that didn’t have fans become more forgiving for non leauge.

as for Castro Valley and enrollment, they are a 2800+ school and I’m not sure Cal High with ~2400 would like another strong basketball program bigger than theirs with more students. Keep in mind Livermore is actually bigger than SRV and both are around ~2100. Amador actually was the biggest school for a long time ~2600 and that kept them strong back in 2004 for example. So it needs to make sense having schools, enrollment wise, which is why I don’t think until Dougherty Valley breaks 2000 they will be leaving the DFAL this next realignment cycle, more likely the one after next.

  94. 925 Says:

it’s the same thing with Dublin high basically. They’ve had under 2000 students forever and they’ve never been considered for EBAL. in 2008 the EBAL wanted nobody, content with the strength of their tradition, however it became clear they had to take on DLS. It has worked out pretty well so far in my opinion. Cal High’s first week 10 “rivalry” game against DLS was 21-14. SRV beat DLS for the NCS Lacrosse championship in 2008. MV beat them in 2007 for Basketball NCS championship. Water polo has actually given DLS a much stronger strength of schedule. And don’t forget women’s soccer. Carondelet has had to go against juggernaut SRV year in and year out, and that has increased the competition for them as well.

  95. Prep Fan Says:

And don’t forget DLS actually came in last place this year in baseball with a 3-11 record in the EBAL. That would not happen in any other league in Northern California.

  96. renegades10 Says:

Prep Fan, the EBAL is great for DLS athletically, much better than the BVAL that’s for sure.

  97. BVAL Expert Says:

    925,

it makes completely sense… why would you keep on being the door mat for the EBAL every year? wouldnt you get tired of it?

They might not make play offs ASAP… But they will have a better chance if they went to the BVAL thats for sure.. all you have to do is be 5-5 as your overall record to even get looked at to go to the playoffs. It would be better if them and Granada were to move into the Bval because they will do alot better in that league especially Granada… This make absoultley complete sense and pretty much a no Brainier…. Doesnt make sense if you stay in the EBAL if you dont even compete in it..

  98. BVAL Expert Says:

Will you think the blog will do the CP DV game… idk cause its an early game

  99. Wizard Says:

All great points, the issue is the Livermore administration wants out, they are tired of being doormats, and the school district will make Granada go with them

  100. outsider Says:

I think it would be a shame to break up the EBAL. Cal used to be a doormat in football and is making great progress. Livermore looks like it might be on its way in a couple of years. It is hard to build a tradition, especially in football. I think having to contend with De La Salle and their dynasty and private school advantages is not fun for the other football programs but EBAL was the logical place to go other than being independant.

  101. Jimmy Durkin Says:

    BVAL Expert,
Yes there will be updates from Deer Valley-College Park. Ben Enos will be out there and his updates will filter in to our Twitter account (Twitter.com/eastbaypreps) and our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/East-Bay-Area/East-Bay-Prep-Corner-Oakland-TribuneCC-Times/66085423309?ref=ts

  102. MAC 1 Says:

Prediction for tonight washington huskies shocks SRV
ranked #2 in the polls. deandre carter will have his break out game this year with 4tds in a 35 to 28 romp for the huskies. mark my words this is a scholarship game and carter is ready to cash in.

  103. outsider Says:

I will not say that it won’t happen, but is unlikely. I say 80% SRV wins 20% Washington wins.

  104. Spartan83 Says:

Renegades10 said … Pinole is a border team, but that tie with Sequoia should drop them below Logan, AV, Granada, and Freedom as well as some of those other teams in honorable mention.

While Pinole isn’t by any means a perfect team, they could and should have done better vs Sequioa. They had three key players out of last weeks game due to some stupid actions on their part (don’t know their status for tonights game vs Oakland Tech). But, I hope these young men get their heads on straight and learn from their mistake. Now, let’s go Spartans and beat the Bulldogs and keep up the winning ways to take the ACCAL title.

  105. Mike Says:

who Washington’s is QB? that’s why the Huskies will get blown out. Carter will get his mismatches, but he will not be able to do it all by himself. SRV has that 6-6 tagliaferri linebacker/safety and has something like 4 interceptions against mitty and antioch already.

I think the biggest upset of all will be College Park over Deer Valley. At home, physical always beats fast. some others to keep an eye on for divisional standings will be Berkeley beating Pitt, or Heritage beating Logan.

  106. renegades10 Says:

Deer Valley scoots by College Park 14-7.

  107. #1 Arroyo Fan Says:

Hayward bent over & spanked for 70 points?!?!? WOW!

  108. #1 Arroyo Fan Says:

    #102

Nice prediction. LOL!! Washington sucks! 55-7?

  109. #1 Arroyo Fan Says:

    #18

Killer D, you don’t know football.
    You predicted a Hayward upset?

    MV 70 Hayward 21

Stick to picking up garbage at the zoo.

  110. renegades10 Says:

big props to Heritage for getting a big win tonight on the road, but i said it wasn’t going to be a blow out.

  111. BVAL Expert Says:

Same here i said that heritage was not going to blow the lead open…

But ive never seen a poor called game by the Refs at the Freedom game… so unprofessional by the Refs not calling noticable personal fouls

  112. Prep Fan Says:

Deer Valley squeeks by again. A 14-7 win vs. 1-3 CP, and had to stop them twice on their last 2 drives inside the 10. Cal had 21 points on CP within the first 4 minutes, and even kicked off to start the game. Deer Valley beat 0-4 Washington at home on the last play of the game and a 2-point conversion, while SRV clobbered them 55-8 and Cal also had their way with them. Deer Valley is still unbeaten, but then again so is Livermore :)

  113. Prep Fan Says:

Good calls by Mike in post #105, predicting the blowout of the Huskies, Berkeley beating Pitt, Heritage beating Logan and nearly got the CP upset, if not for 2 goal line stands by DV at the end of the game. MAC 1 in post #102 did not quite have the same foresight. I hope that scholly is not revoked.

  114. Lakeview Says:

#1 Arroyo, Is it true MV scored 70 points in Three quarters. That they let the clock run through and didn’t play the 4th Qtr?

  115. Mike Says:

Thanks Prep Fan and the rest of you guys who are thinking logically. Heh. I sure sounded smart, but honestly this year’s DV team is not matched with the strength of last years, and clearly, these tight wins show the EBAL is deep this year. Heritage is having an incredible season, but man I wish they did keep MV on their schedule right about now, echoing MV Alum’s point about their players being even more experienced this year.

I expect this year’s NCS to be very EBAL heavy again, but rightly so this year is their statement year. Pitt will have to win league in my opinion to make it now, but if they’re still doing the 16 team format, a lot of these winless teams may get in by virtue of teams like Arroyo and Washington being D-2.

Who’s with me I say Granada has a firm chance at getting in this year! They will battle Amador for that last EBAL-team in, but Cal, SRV, MV, Foothill, and DLS have looked very dominant thus far.

Berkeley High is improving, likely automatic qualify is their preference, but I don’t see Logan or San Leandro getting left out because they’ll still win their leagues.

  116. Mike Says:

if I had to say my top 12 d-1, I’d go

    1. DLS
    2. SRV
    3. Cal
    4. Heritage
    5. Monte Vista(they should’ve beaten Serra, they are really that strong as Hayward found out)
    6. Foothill
    7. Deer Valley(I think is overated but still strong, but not the strongest team in their league or against the EBAL’s line up)
    8. Granada
    9. Logan
    10. Berkeley
    11. Pitt
    12. Livermore(ok they are undefeated! but is this San Leandro’s spot? time will tell)

  117. mac 1 Says:

I was wrong big time. Thought the huskies had a chance I heard all three programs played in san ramon this week and it was 149 to 8 . I wonder how ken wittmer feels Compared to the well ran program of Srv compared to his. that type of spanking may spell program wide issues. As I see it if your best player Carter cant get the ball the question needs to be not who the qb is but who the offensive coordinator is? he has to be an idiot not to get this kid touches. the best wr in in the bay area . something wrong there and you have a head coach removing him from the preseason top 25 cream of the crop. i dont know.!

  118. jp lose Says:

fire the bum! if he cant win with a talent like carter.
when did this happen about carter being recommended not making the top 25 cream of the crop? if his coach did that then this guy is really not about the kids. that’s not right.

  119. BVAL Expert Says:

Why is heritag ranked fourth? foothil should be ahead of them

  120. MV Alum Says:

Lakeview; It was 63-14 10sec into the 4thQ and they went to a running clock after that with 3rd team D and O for MV…

  121. EBAL FAN #2 Says:

Throwing for that last TD? Stay classy MV.

  122. Lakeview Says:

Thanks MV Alum: I saw MV’s Junior Dalis Bruce on film returning a kick against Pitt. I heard he took a middle screen pass 77 yards. Is this kid as fast as i’m hearing.

  123. MV Alum Says:

EBALFAN2: Like I said earlier they had 2 and 3rd team players in kid caught a 5 yd pass and broke 4 tackles for the last TD (plus the running clock) as far as Bruce yes kid is fast, he has some real nice open field running moves and can play. I think only thing for him is to not try and make a move to soon he needs to get to the second level then do his stuff.

  124. huskies Says:

Mac 1…yes washington struggled big time this weekend against SRV…i am sure the coach isn’t too happy with the week, how could you be. but to call him out on this blog is about as classless as can be. everybody knows carter is a great wr, but that is the problem everyone knows. so he is getting double and triple teamed…huskies have been unable to find a run game which has caused the offense to stall of late…but they are giving up nearly 40 pts a game, so i dont think all their issues are on offense.

SRV is a great run program…but the frosh are at a huge disadvantage because that is the first game they play, per MVAL rules. i believe SRV frosh have played at least 2…

washington JV program has 22 players on it, nearly half of which are freshman because only a few returning frosh decided to play. so no doubt they would struggle. and srv has a pretty darn good jv team if you haven’t heard, i am sure they will do well in the ebal this year.

the varsity had a rough game and no way they win that game. but did you know only 21 players suited up…9 players were injured including 6 or 7 starters. excuses aside you can’t go into a big game vs a great team like SRV with that. should it have been as bad as it was, probably not. but when most of the team is going both ways it is pretty tough against a very good and deep srv team…you got to play the hand that is delt to you. right now the huskies are trying to find there way. but they just got done with arguably the toughest non league schedule in the east bay, playing teams twice there size and twice there roster size every week…it took a toll on them.

now they are 0-4 and time to regroup. season has a long ways to go, just ask pitt…they are still going to be a tough out in D2 and there is no team they will face the rest of the year that was better than what they have already seen, so we will see if tough schedule pays off or not.. but we will see if they can get healthy and right the ship. all it matters is who is standing in the end in the playoffs. if the huskies are then this will be just a seriously bumpy road on the way. if they aren’t then maybe they weren’t the team everyone hoped for. but still a long ways to go.

so critisize all you want and show no class for a program you obviously supportted before kickoff, now bash afterward. we dont need fans like you and should be ashamed to even post what you did.

and i know the head coach well…he did not remove carter from the top 25, everyone needs to get over that. he is a great kid and all this talk on blogs over this and that is just ruining wthe future he has.

  125. PERKIN Says:

    Arroyo you’ll suck.

  126. MVALfollower Says:

    #1 Arroyo fan:
Hayward allowed 70 points, you failed to mention about Arroyo allowing 35 points last night to a team that’s been averaging barely 200 yards a game for the past 13 games. All that talk about you guys taking home the HAAL title should go right out the door.

  127. Yo Mama Says:

Encinal and Arroyo should play a game. who wins?

  128. BVAL Expert Says:

    Encinal

  129. Scl alum Says:

Any thoughts on Alhambra’s chances of taking the DFAL title?

    predictions for 10/01

vacaville vs deer valley – vacaville wins this one, i don’t see dv pulling this out.
freedom vs college park – college park will get the win, but it will be close
antioch vs mt. diablo – antioch may finally get a win
heritage vs concord – i see heritage pulling a win, but it will be close
pitt vs granite bay – granite bay will win, pitt doesn’t have it this year to compete
amador valley vs livermore – amador wil get the win
foothill vs de la salle – de la salle will run through foothill
granada vs san ramon valley – srv will pull out the win
monte vista vs cal – cal will win, but it will be a close game
alhambra vs las lomas – alhambra will win a close game
campolindo vs dogherty valley – dv will win
mirramonte vs acalanes – acalenes will win by at least 2 td’s
logan vs american – loga will win. logan should win their league
kennedy vs newark – kennedy wins
irvington vs washington – washingtom will get their first win
northgate vs valley christian – valley christian wins…
clayton valley vs frmont (oak) – fremont wins
ygnacio valley vs skyline – ygnacio wins

  131. BVAL Expert Says:

I think they can possibly win league… i think its between them and campolindo and possibly las lomas

  132. MoreauFan1 Says:

    ManDown,
I like our chances to compete. If we can bring our A game against the top teams in the league, I like our chances to compete for the title. I was actually really nervous against SLZ because we have had trouble the past few years at all levels against them, and I got nervous at the start of the game. However, I was really proud of our ability to come back. Unfortunately I haven’t really been able to watch any SPSV or Encinal games, so I can’t really speak that well, but overall I think we have a fighters chance. If we can improve the secondary and keep the wide outs in front of us and preventing the deep play (see SLZ), our D should be a lot more sound, and that will help a lot.

  133. Yo Mama Says:

I mean who wins the mouth game- Encinal or Arroyo?
I can walk them both across highway 17th towards San Mateo to Serra.

  134. Big Joe Says:

Perkins, bad calls on both sides. Too many late flags, DLS dodged a bullet on that call. Also Gorman called for several un-sportmanlike penalities, they didn’t seem dirty too me-just hard hitting- I beleive those calls were from the dis-satisfaction with refs and verbal comments towards them. The side judge stunk.
Also, the usual DLS calls against the veer and rocker line. The refs can’t pick it up-so they call it. I would like to see an extra ref for these big games.

  135. PERKIN Says:

I didn’t get a chance to se the first half that call just seemed so big because DLS maybe couldn’t have stayed as patient with thr run game. Being down by one score they could stay patient & stick to the Veer but if that play goes DLS may have paniced. BUt they played great condtioning showed in the 4th. I have a hard time believing they were better conditioned then Goram from what I heard of Sanchez’s conditioning he did at Cal High. I think the way DLS pushes their kids towards being leaner all their guys looking more like LBs is what helped them in the 4th. Having theose big 300lb linemen for Groan may be what cost them late having to carry around all that weight.

  136. Bulldog Forever Says:

“Any thoughts on Alhambra’s chances of taking the DFAL title?”

At the moment, we have about a 40% chance of winning. Our problem is that we can only run, and cannot utilize receivers Davis and Manuli. One dimensional teams normally don’t get very far, but when your one dimension is tailback Jared Leaf, a championship is certainly possible. We have a new QB, Adam Nesheim, a transfer from YV who just got approved to play. He hasn’t played in a scrimmage or a game in almost a year, but if he can catch on, he could make a difference for us.

  137. DVAL Watcher Says:

Alhambra’s chances of taking DFAL just improved greatly. Your new QB is outstanding!! He not only can throw and run he has playoff time under his belt He is a real smart kid will pick up on your offense real quick.

  138. ManDown Says:

Where is DonJuan at now? His team got beat by a weak Newark team and they were talking all that smack how they weren’t going to lose a game and how they were going to blow them out. Haha! Loser!

Yeah, I also think that Alhambra should be able to win DFAL and then possibly do some damage come playoff time. They are strong team. And, if QB Nesheim is pulling the trigger now, they will be even tougher. I’m a YV fan and watched him torch teams last season. He is an accurate and very poised passer. He ran an advanced pro style offense at YV last year with great success, winning DVAL. I was wondering what happened to him this year? YV’s loss is definitely Alhambra’s gain!

  140. Bulldog Forever Says:

DVAL Watcher, you got me thinking about Nesheim. I sure hope that you’re right. His becoming available to play last week was unlikely and very unexpected. If he can catch onto the offense, and Coach Hern plays him at QB, it would create a very nice domino effect for Alhambra. 1) We could move current QB Jon Miller, a tremendous athlete, to halfback, and also utilize him as a wide receiver in 4 receiver sets 2) Nesheim’s passing ability would bring WR Trevor Davis and TE Rich Manuli back into the offense 3)It would also widen the field as Adam can get the ball downfield to the extremely speedy Davis 4) This would make tailback Jared Leaf even more efficient than he already is, as teams couldn’t concentrate on stopping only him 5) Miller would then also be available to play defensive back, and he would vitally shore up our leaky pass defense. So, in effect, the addition of Nesheim could strengthen both the offense and the defense.

1ST OF ALL I’m not a fan of the program I think it sucks. Yes Carter is a talent as is 24 0ther top Ebay players and week in and week they seem to get the ball. except for at washington high school.I think if you have talent like carter and cant get him the ball the head coach and the offensive coord need to go.
It’s obvious you didnt read jimmoes explanation for leaving carter off the preseason top 25 it was a head coach request. Cant get the ball during the season so far and no preseason awards. sounds fishy to me. If the carter parents are out there I would look into this sounds like thr head coach is screwing the kid to me and i would raise hell if that was the cASE. EVERYONE SAYS WHAT A GREAT KID THEN WHY SCREW HIM something must be going on in husky land. And huskie says you either are on the payroll or the head coach himself trying to defend himself. and if that
    ‘s the case your classless.

yeah I guess we should just all continue to over look these near criminal transfers because of the domino effect it will have for your team. Ask MT D or YV how they feel about their kids being able to go where ever they like when ever they like…what a joke.

  143. C-dog Says:

Hey Eastbay Football, near criminal transfers? For public schools? Oh please! The NCS has very strict rules about athletic transfers. You should go to the website to see for yourself. Kids don’t just get to go where ever they like. Families often move you know. What is a joke is how private schools like, De La Salle, can recruit the best athletes from all over the nation to remain dominant. Public schools have no chance against them!

  144. Gliderrider Says:

I’ll answer this one for you Bulldog Forever.

Eastbay Football- the NCSCIF has very strict rules and regulations regarding transfers. Kids cannot go “where ever they like when ever they want”. The NCSCIF rules and regulations are so strict that it’s almost impossible to transfer and still be eligible for sports. There’s more to each school than just football, and there’s more to each story than just football. The NCSCIF is very thorough and painstaking in their investigations of transfer applications for sports eligibility. They’ll only approve a transfer if they’re 100% sure it meets all requirements. If they’re 95% sure, then the answer is NO. Any transfer that was approved by the NCSCIF is quite legitimate and not a joke.
