Continuing the theme of a very newsy Wednesday, Heritage’s leading rusher, junior running back Tyler McDonald, has been lost for the season. McDonald tore ligaments in his thumb in Friday’s 24-12 win over James Logan. Patriots coach Jeff Haagenson said Wednesday that McDonald has surgery on Sunday and will be out for the season. In four games this year, McDonald had 45 carries for 416 yards (9.2 yards per carry) and five touchdowns.

WOW that is to bad for the young man he ran well in the game vs Novato. I am sure he will be missed by Heritage.

I thought the article said he would miss the entire season.

McDonald has a busted knuckle and ligament damage. This kid is a stud and lives for football. Heritage in the playoffs means McDonald on the field….7 weeks is plenty of time to recover. Just a prediction

I’m sure the doc said he was done for the season, but I agree with BVAL Fan that come playoff time it will most likely be feeling much better.

It is just a thumb? Come on put some tape and a pad and he’ll be fine

This might be big for Heritage… but the question is that can they replace someone with his kinda of speed…. im not sure what to think so far… but i think the BVAL is up for grabs come league time

heritage has lots of weapons to use. i think they’ll hold up w/out mcdonald. it does put a crease on their offensive game, but heritage we’ll do just fine. they have other rb’s willing and ready to step up with the same speed and intensity. mcdonald will bounce back. he’s a hell of a player. he may be ready before league or playoffs. we’ll see how they handle concord on friday.
