I cover mostly San Jose State football for the San Jose Mercury News/Bay Area News Group, but also fill in from time to time with the 49ers, Warriors, A's and Giants.

  • stat check

Nugent had two td’s against branham. 3 against galileo. and one against slz. that’s 5

  • thatguy

Moreau catholic statistically looks like their doing better this year…anyone know a record? Encinal like always looks to be the favorite. Anyone know whats happened to piedmont? heard their 0-4. correct me if im wrong.

  • Chris’ Dad

How come there are no SPSV stats?

  • http://ibabuzz.com/prepcorner Jimmy Durkin

Moreau is 3-0-1. Piedmont lost a lot of players and is just really struggling right now.

I’ll have our guy who is compiling the BSAL stats recheck Nugent’s scoring totals. The reason there aren’t SPSV stats is that they are not in our coverage area, but I’ll check with our person in charge of the BSAL stats to see if he can add them in.

  • Chris’ Dad

    Thatguy,

Moreau is 3-0-1. They play St. Mary’s this weekend. Their offense is balanced and their defense is tough and they are going to make a run at Encinal and SPSV for the BSAL.

  • Stat Check

Pantoja had one td against JFK of Richmond.

  • brandonbeard

Looks likeeveryone has a few playmakers. Of Course some more than others though!

  • arryo34

why is avi rosenblum not on here he has 5 touchdowns n has had a lot of good games you guys should get yours stats up to date

  • BSAL fan

Big guns for St Pats are Naji Patrick (RB) over 600 yds and 11 TDs.Danny Souza (QB) 400 yds Passing (0 INTS)and 400 Rushing with 8TDs total.Next 3 games should all be good.Kennedy,Encinal and Moreau in that order(I think).Defense will be the key in all 3 games.Patrick also a track star will be good matchup with Encinals Allen Moreaus Nugent.Souza a 3 sport star since his freshman year is always dangerous. He picked apart Salesian on the ground for about 200 and has hookups Guillory and Herndon in the air!

  • FOX

Who picked apart Salesian for 200 yards on the ground? Souza?? Please keep it real. Patrick ran the ball well, but still didn’t reach 200.

  • http://aol Big Joe

The times should carry SPSV. They are in the BSAL and play mostly East Bay teams. Does the Times cover Benicia?

  • http://aol Yo Mama

Nice to see Moreau challenging the status quo in the BSAL. Althought I don’t believe they can beat SPSV or Encinal, they will give St. Mary’s all they can handle.
Someone will be walked either On Mission Blvd. or Perelta Park.

  • old former meddling coach.

    61-0 Jets Over Swett.

  • Triton8

Jets won’t lose again until NCS….too fast and too well schooled in that offense. St Pats may play close, but I can’t see them beating the Jets. The Jets have about 4 RBs that can kill the defense? and an O lineman that can totally collapse a defensive line by himself…….they won’t lose until they play someone with superior size.

  • Triton8

……look at the yards per carry….8.9, 14.2,16.1 & 11.5…..how do you stop that?

  • eastbay football

pretty lame still no DVAL stats with 2 top 50 California offenses, but a stellar story on a girls basketball hire

#9. i have been trying to tell people about that Avi Kid, but he plays all over the field running back WR, Fullback, Safety, Linebacker, Corner, and even dfensive end, so his stats aren’t always as high on the offensive side of the ball, but he leads the team in tackles for sure, and INT’s! Verry good player. HAs a few schools on interested in him, some smaller D1 Schools, which would be great for that school. Ihave never seen a football player from Albany get a scholarship!

  • http://ibabuzz.com murdoc

brandonbeard albany lost to swett who just got smashed against encinal 61-0! will see what avi does when he plays st.pats & encinal.

  • brandonbeard

Murdoc, I agree with you totally! I just think he is a player that has gotten lost on a bad team. Thats all! if he really wants to get noticed he needs to play great against the really good teams. But some people act like there arent good players on bad teams, but there are! But what you said is so true, at the same time he is only one player, and he never seems to settle into one position. He moves every week!

  • brandonbeard

But honestly Albany is terrible overall!

  • BayShoreFan

    SPSV will win against Encinal

  • Arayyo4

Yeah he dose play all over but that show how much of a player he is that he can play anywhere and still produce for his team like last week I was at his game and he got another interception which makes 6 for him on the season and he had four catchs for 40 yards and ran the ball 4 times for 50 yards and had it of tackle and is a great blocker in the backfield for the plays he goes to fullback and can hit this boy is a real stud and isn’t afraid to hit anyone

  • Truth

Arayyo4 is clearly Avi Rosenblum talking about himself… his jersey number is 4 and his initials are AR (the first two letters of the name he’s using)…
