  1. KillerD Says:

KillerD’s picks of the week on a Rainy Fall Day/Night:

Hercules at Alameda: For a few years people of east bay football ilk have wondered when the Hercules program would start winning some games? Now they have won 4, but this will be a tough test in Alameda. The Hornets are not a good football team and seem to be in disarray, but will that sink the Gold and Black tonight? Yes, Hercules wants to make the playoffs and Alameda wants to make it through the night. They are gearing up for the annual team banquet at the end of the year and soccer season.

    Prediction:
Big UPSET Tonight Hercules 28 vs. Alameda 19

Berean Christian at Valley Christian: Who has Berean beat this year? OK teams that’s who. The Eagles are a much better program this year but they are not a super power yet. However, take a deeper look at the Vikings from Dublin and they are stirring for an upset tonight. VC has played one of the top 3 toughest schedules of any D-4 team in the NCS. Their reward has been a 2-4 record but they can easily finish with a 5-5 record by winning vs. a good but not outstanding Berean team.

Prediction: Valley Christian 31 vs. Berean Christian 21

St. Patrick’s at Moreau: Upon absorbing their annual defeat by Encinal last week, this St. Patrick’s 2nd ranked team in D-4 has nothing to worry about IF their star Naji Patrick is healthy for this week’s key game against a very good Moreau team. St. Patrick’s is excellent this year and Moreau is very good. The Mariner’s are STILL looking for their rebuilt program’s FIRST marquee Win against a quality team. A coin flip could do a better job than I of predicting tonight’s winner but I seem to be out of change right now…

    Prediction: St. Patrick’s 34 vs. Moreau 32

St. Mary’s at Piedmont: The Panthers and Piedmont, the only two BSAL teams besides Encinal that have beaten St. Patrick’s in the last two years. Both programs when up are tough foes. St. Mary’s stunned a very good Moreau team two weeks ago and the Panthers have won 2 in a row. The Highlanders have been a streaky program and they have very little talent. Both teams have played brutal schedules and the Panthers are ranked 8th in D-4. How hot are the Highlanders at home even though they are big underdogs vs. St. Mary’s?

Prediction: Big UPSET tonight Piedmont 32 vs. St. Mary’s 31

Pittsburg at Heritage: Heritage is better than Pitt, Pitt is way down and not good at all. Heritage will win this home game tonight and they will do so going away to finally squash ANY playoff dreams of Pitt after a very bad year begins to wind down for Pitt.

Prediction: Heritage 41 vs. Pitt 14

Campolindo at Miramonte: The Mats will STILL win this league but 10-0 has eluded their grasp after falling to a down Las Lomas team and giving up 1,000,000 yards to the very good LL tailback. Campolindo always pulls of a great upset and both Wade and Macy are excellent coaches. Problem is, Campo will NOT upset the Mats this week, but it will be a good battle for one half.

Prediction: Miramonte 32 vs. Campolindo 12

Northgate at Clayton Valley: In August I TOLD all of you that Northgate was VERY good before the first opening kickoff of the 2010 season occurred. The Broncos are outstanding, they have Talent, Talent and more Talent and they have Depth. Herc Pardi’s Eagles of Clayton Valley are good this year but they are not great like last couple of years. Broncos will roll in the 2nd half.

Prediction: Northgate 41 vs. Clayton Valley 21

Cal High at Granada: The Grizzlies are mauling every foe and devouring their victim’s body parts right in front of them, as they lay quivering on the ground watching their innards being consumed by the Orange and Black world beaters. EVERY remaining game is merely a tune up for Cal High, as they prepare for a 9-0 dual with DLS in week 10. Granada is good but losing to a down Foothill exposed the Granada team as a nada in big games.

Prediction: Cal High 54 vs. Granada 21

Foothill at Livermore: This matchup pits the wily and gutsy Sweeney coaching the Falcons vs. his longtime great assistant who now leads the Cowboys, coach Habner. There are MANY people throughout the east bay quietly rooting for the Cowboys of Livermore to be Grand once again. The Falcons are down in talent and the Cowboys are REALLY hoping this will be the week they get an EBAL win again. They have a star RB and the Falcons have often not played well vs. bad Livermore teams, saving their better efforts for tougher foes. Problem is, Livermore is starting to improve.

Prediction: Big UPSET tonight: Livermore 31 vs. Foothill 30

Ferndale at Eureka: Ferndale is so tough and fearless that they have a hard time finding opponents willing to travel to play them…kind of like a less sophisticated Boise State. Ferndale battled a very good MacDaddy team in losing 18-0, and lost to a decent Fortuna team. Eureka on paper should win this game, but last time I checked the game is played on the field. Eureka is a very good program and a tad bit down this season.

Prediction: Eureka 30 vs. Ferndale 21

Del Norte at Fortuna: Del Norte got a big win vs. Eureka, huge win. And their loss to a D-5 St. Bernard’s team is unforgivable to take them seriously. Fortuna is tougher than St. Bernard’s and beat them easily.

Prediction: Fortuna 29 vs. Del Norte 28

Novato at Redwood: Again, if you were taking notes during my pre-season August Lectures…I TOLD all of you that this year Redwood would be darn good. They will BEAT Novato, a Novato team that is not good at all this year, no talent and very young. Novato will be down this year and next compared to their great teams of recent.

Prediction: Redwood 24 vs. Novato 21

Middletown at Fort Bragg: The NCS North Central 1 has quietly become the BEST Div-4 conference in the NCS, easily. Both of these programs are dominant and the next several weeks will showcase them all beating up on each other as EVERY team in this League will probably make the D-4 playoffs. Middletown has a better football tradition but the ghosts of yesteryear don’t play tonight. Fort Bragg is good and so is M-town.

Prediction: Fort Bragg 23 vs. Middletown 21

Lower Lake at Kelseyville: Cousins, Aunts and Uncles will fill the bleachers tonight at the Clear Lake Civil War unfolds. Kelseyville has Massive OL and always gets the free 12 – 15 good calls from the Refs at home to help ensure that ‘nephew Johnny’s’ team wins on their home field. Both teams are good, physical and fast.

Prediction: Kelseyville 27 vs. Lower Lake 22

Healdsburg at Windsor: Again for those of you asleep at the back of the class in August, I TOLD you that Windsor was for real this year. Healdsburg is always tough and sits atop the D-4 rankings at Number One. Trouble looms though because on paper the Greyhounds have no business playing against a much bigger Windsor school. But geographic dynamics make this pairing a matchup for ease of league play. Windsor struggled against Analy but won. Healdsburg’s only loss was to Analy however, in a tight game.

Prediction: Windsor 21 vs. Healdsburg 17

  2. Really Says:

In high school, is a person wearing #50 at the tight end position in field goal formation eligable for a pass?

  3. outsider Says:

KillerD- I am not sure that Damariay Drew is healthy yet due to a sore shoulder. He was played mostly as a decoy against Cal last week. If he is not there for Livermore I don’t see how they will win.

  4. Just Watch Says:

    Upset of the week:

    Arroyo over San Leandro 28-21

  5. JusWatch Says:

    Upset Of The Week:

    Arroyo Over San Leandro 28-21

  6. ManDown Says:

    -Hercules 21 Alameda 17
    -St. Patrick’s 45 Moreau 24
    -Heritage 31 Pitt 35
    -Livermore 14 Foothill 30
    -Cal High 45 Granada 21
    -Miramonte 21 Campolindo 24
    -Northgate 35 Clayton Valley 14
    -Fremont 21 Mack 14
-Amador Valley 21 Monte Vista 35
    -San Lorenzo 7 Bishop O’Dowd 28
    -Arroyo 7 San Leandro 35
    -Bellarmine 24 Valley Christian 31

  7. 617lemon Says:

Island02-5 everyones predicting an upset tonite but not me i believe kemps real offense will show up. Killerd you called alameda a bad team stop piling on they play there ass off rite oline coach. Kemp when is roro gonna get a carry?

  8. ManDown Says:

Arroyo over SL? I don’t think so JusWatch… You guys should predict anymore games after all that trash you were talking and failed to back it up. Arroyo will finish 4-6 winning the next two games against Mt. Eden and Tennyson. Arroyo look forward to next year or maybe the year after that for the sucess you guys seek.

  9. ManDown Says:

617lemon, Only reason I say upset because Alameda seems to have packed it up after the injury to the star RB and a few others. From last years sucess you would think they would have a pretty darn good team this year dispite the loss of a good RB. The last two games wern’t even close and Hercules is going to have lots of confidence going into this game which is a very winnable game for them. Hercules seems to be having a OK year so far and after this game we will see how good they really are.

  10. CHALKtalk Says:

    mandown
u dont think ARROYO can beat SL
with all those weapons and that fine coaching staff
    what-else could u ask 4

  11. ManDown Says:

No Way! San Leandro killed Castro Valley and beat Hayward who destroyed Arroyo 61-15! Arroyo barley got past CV… Are you kidding me?

  12. CHALKtalk Says:

mandown 61-15 dont air dirty laundry thats just not nice

the team is better than that and plus ur only as good last win
plus logan smashed SL and ARROYO played them close

  13. BayFan97 Says:

When will the updated BSAL football stats be up? Looks like it’s the only league without their updated stats posted.

  14. Scl alum Says:

    KillerD-

Agree with you on Windsor being the better team on paper vs. the ‘Hounds. I want Healdsburg to pull off the upset, but predict a 28-20 Jag win, barring a torrential downpour. (last check 20% chance of rain gametime)

  15. CRA Says:

Killer D- do you really think Livermore will score 31 points on Foothill. The only team to score more then 25 was DLS. We all have a right to our opinions but that seems a bit extreme. Livermore hasn’t scored more then 14 pts in EBAL

  16. outsider Says:

KillerD sometimes uses hyperbole, especially on the Cal vs Granada game, but that is what makes it fun.

  17. KillerD Says:

I called Alameda a bad team but as usual I only mean bad football team in such description NOT bad kids.

Yes, all of this is in good fun for any prediction

  18. Olinecoach Says:

Hey lemon, what did you say about me? Hard work! We are going to welcome Hercules to the Rock in proper fashion, mud bowl and a sad ride home.

  19. mytwocents Says:

ALBANY HEAD COACH claimed he could not get referee’s for the game vs ENCINAL so the game was forfeited..long story short it was a chicken shit move by Albany coach.

  20. Prepfan Says:

    DLS score?

  21. Olinecoach Says:

    24-7 alameda

  22. Triton8 Says:

aren’t referees scheduled WWWWAAAAYYYYYY ahead of time?
What a black eye for the high school! WTF? Have some heart…take your ass stomp like a man! The other BSAL teams look like Notre Dame compared to Albany!

  23. BigJoe Says:

Unbeleivable on Albany! Same for the OAL. Put religion in the publics and turn them private.
    God is my witness.

  24. BigJoe Says:

In Korea, it was stenciled on the side of fighter jets: God is my Co- Pilot. Let’s bring the pledge of Alligance and at least for God;s sake back into the system- all FOOTBALL teams pray- don’t matter whay God you worship.

  25. mike Says:

    amen

  26. Island02 Says:

    Alameda 44 Hercules 17.

  27. 617lemon Says:

island02-5 you proud of yourself? havent seen you blog for a while waiting for the scrub teams huh? but i saw this coming damn kempers offense look good like i predicted.richmond will be more of the same. i believe the team that played de anza and hercules are the true hornets. montgomery time to step down how long you been there? nothings changed!

  28. HAL Says:

holy kcuf ARROYO BEAT SAN LEANDRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  29. HAL Says:

that’s a league winning streak since 2007 that has gone bye bye pirates

  30. JusWatch Says:

ARROYO……upset of the week like i said! ManDown ur judging us by our record not by how we can play and now look. The Dons are tied for 2nd in the HAAL.

  31. JusWatch Says:

ARROYO….upset of the week like i said! ManDown ur judging us by our record not by how we can play and now look. The Dons are tied for 2nd in the HAAL.

  32. Island02 Says:

Nah lemonhead haven’t been here in awhile. I’ve been taking care my son who just had his surgery Tuesday. I was reading the blog and all the predictions and thought I would just update the score.

  33. The Sideliner Says:

After trading touchdowns in the first half St Pats and Moreau ended the first half knotted up at 14 apiece. With Patrick still fighting his ankle injury and leaving the game in the second quarter St Pats decided to go with the air attack in the second half.Final score St Pats 49-34 over Moreau.

  34. renegades10 Says:

Well, some good games played tonight. Games I predicted earlier in the week:

Hercules beating Alameda 21-14. Not even close on this one, a big miss as Alameda handles business 30-10.

SPSV beating Moreau 42-35 in a high scoring affair. Right on as final score was 49-34 SPSV winning.

Pitt beating Heritage 35-28. Got the point differential right as well as the victor but less scoring than I anticipated with a 20-13 final.

Freedom beating DV 21-7. Another miss as the Wolverines emerge victorious 28-25.

Miramonte beating Campo 35-14. Unfortunately for my hometown Cougs I was right, but final score was 34-7.

American beating NM 21-17. Predicted a tight game and it was final score was 19-13 American winning.

DLS beating SRV 42-14. Right about DLS winning but sure was a close game at least score wise at 28-0. Didn’t catch it tonight, but sounds like the defense overwhelmed the Wolves although their offense has been anything but good as of late. I have said SRV has a very good defense and they came to play tonight. Hopefully DLS wakes up now and puts together a full week of good practice, something they haven’t done at all this season.

MV beating AV 35-21. MV was up big before AV scores some points late to lessen the blowout 56-28.

Foothill beating Livermore 35-7. Final was 34-7 enough said on it.

Cal beating Granada 35-14. Got the score and victor right.

Overall 8-2 on the night and still one more game to go with CP vs. YV tomorrow. I have CP winning.

  35. KillerD Says:

Nice work Renegades10……………..I need to eat the same breakfast cereal as you to hone my skills.

Great job tonight picking and congratulations to all winners.

  36. 617lemon Says:

island02-5 newark de anza hercules next richmond with those impressive wins theres no way ncs can keep you guys out of the playoffs. island02-5 is this the year you n kemp finally win a playoff game?

  37. s1lverngreen Says:

Gades 10, nice picks…i’ll have to call you when I go to Reno! Ha! I went to the DLS game last night. Penalties and fumbles killed us the first half. We had two called back because of holding. Defense was tough! D Williams capped the night off with a 73 yrd punt return set up by sending Frankie and Devin deep…it was a thing of beauty, sealed off the right side of the field and gave Williams a clear lane for a big 6!

  38. ManDown Says:

Congrats Arroyo on a big win for your program! I gave you guys a hard time saying you were going to lose but you guys pulled it off. Good job to all the coaches and players on the Arroyo team. San Leandro your team has fell off big time and maybe a new coach will do the trick. SL should never lose a game in the HAAL.

  39. ManDown Says:

-Hercules 21 Alameda 17, – WRONG! Good job Hornets
-St. Patrick’s 45 Moreau 24 – RIGHT! St. Pats is the real deal
-Heritage 31 Pitt 35 – RIGHT! Watch out for Pitt…
-Livermore 14 Foothill 30 – Right! Foothill is going to finish 3rd in EBAL
-Cal High 45 Granada 21 – RIGHT! Cal is too strong this year finish 2nd in EBAL
-Miramonte 21 Campolindo 24 – WRONG! I underestimated the Mats
-Northgate 35 Clayton Valley 14 – RIGHT! Solid year for Northgate
    -Fremont 21 Mack 14 –
-Amador Valley 21 Monte Vista 35 – RIGHT! MV isn’t will finish 5th
-San Lorenzo 7 Bishop O’Dowd 28 – RIGHT! ODOWD looks good this year…
-Arroyo 7 San Leandro 35 – WRONG! Good win for Arroyo
-Bellarmine 24 Valley Christian 31- RIGHT! VC vs De La would be a good one…

  40. Island02 Says:

Lemonhead , that’s some good humor , your sarcasm is well beyond your knowledge. Keep up the good work !

  41. 617lemon Says:

island02-5 knowledge? I question your knowledge rb coach who put harvell in the backfield. You & your staff chose him over two good coaches! How that turn out? Island02-5 keep up the bad work! I told you weeks ago get ready to be 4-6.

  42. BVAL Expert Says:

    SL is whack

  43. Island02 Says:

Hey lemonhead , look here genius , I coach JV and don’t make personel decisions on varsity. If you know so much about me and our staff you would know this! That’s why I say again , your sarcasm far exceeds your knowledge ! Hahahaha !

  44. outsider Says:

I think that De La salle would beat Valley Christian. VC against Cal would be a close game.

  45. renegades10 Says:

Forgot I did say I thought Bellarmine would beat VC. It’s a big win for VC, Bells are not easy to beat for any team that goes for DLS and Grant as well. They run that double wing to perfection meaning both DLS and Grant would have less possessions than normal. Wouldn’t be surprised to see the Bells and VC meet in the finals of the CCS Open. Bells do need to watch out for Serra who play them tough almost every time. Congrats to Mitty last night as they trounced St. Francis, that win for SRV is starting to look a little better now that Mitty played VC close and dominated St. Francis in back to back weeks. SRV has a tough defense, I have been saying that all year. Whoever meets them in the playoffs will have a tough time with it. Their offense is a different matter however…

  46. 617lemon Says:

island04-6 tell me then who coaches rb for varsity? i guess it was kemps decison he does call the plays.kemp coaches qb oline what do the rest of you guys do? island04-6 if alameda was worth anything this year you would be claiming to be a var coach. are those pants or shorts your wearing on friday cuz your either flood’n or you need to pull those shorts up paday!

  47. Harry Callahan Says:

    Albany High Scott Shelvelson,

You are can. Total mark. You pissed the entire Encinal community off. No mercy next year. I will ask the coaches to run up the score 5 fold. Your trippin homie. I got your card right here homie. You aint teaching football. If your going to forfeit, you forfeit on a Tuesday or Wednesday not game day after Encinal shows up and has to pay for busses. You a sucka homie. I got the twins right here talking about you. S and W. They were hellla upset. And why Albany didnt put EHS on your schedule I heard. And why Albany didnt just call it a forfeit to the press and to the refs assoc. Coach Scott you aint sh..!

  48. Harry Callahan Says:

Island 02 and Olinecoach you aint sh..! Im getting tierd of hearing all the BS why you guys defend the AHS hornets. Ya’ll some suckas too…

  49. Harry Callahan Says:

    Island04and6 lol, lol, lol, lol,

  50. Island02 Says:

I’m extremely proud of my JV group and if Alameda was 8-0 I would still say what I said. Wow ! Lemonhead ur checking me out that close to look at my pants? Now you’re scaring me !

  51. 617lemon Says:

island04-6 alameda would never be 8-0 unless they played de anza hercules 4 times a piece.those are pants! they barely reach your ankles. who coaches the var rb’s? i know you dont want to answer just like you had no answer why harvell dont play line. harry callahan island04-6 is a brian gumble type that’s why he rides with alameda tryn to fit in with the w…es. sell out!

  52. renegades10 Says:

CP took out YV today 14-0. Definitely not the fireworks I expected but margin (35-21 was my predicted score) and victor (CP) were both on to bring it to 9-2 on the week for games involving NCS teams. Will post another round of games on Monday’s Poll thread and invite all to join in on the predictions.

  53. Scl alum Says:

Middletown stomped on Fort Bragg 38-14. Anyone see them in the DIV championship?

  54. KillerD Says:

Middletown has a very tough program that is extremely loaded with huge OL and DL and some tought backs.

They will be top 3 seed in playoffs

  55. Scl alum Says:

Yeah, I agree on a top 3 seed. My ideal playoff scenario, in a Redwood Empire small school showdown, would be Healdsburg vs. Middletown, possibly in a NCS semifinal. We’ll see. The NCS seedings are predictably unpredictable..

  56. Scl alum Says:

Gonna run to Peet’s to get some coffee. Any takers? Looks like no one’s here this am..

  57. Triton8 Says:

Lemon…..YOU weren’t one of those “2 good coaches” that got overlooked for the Varsity RB job..would you? You seem very close to the program, but extremely bitter about something….
