Oakland’s Taplin to UC Riverside

Dominique Taplin became the third Oakland High basketball player to finalize his college plans this weekend when he gave an oral committment to UC Riverside, Wildcats coach Orlando Watkins said.

The 6-foot-2 guard can sign his national letter-of-intent when the early signing period begins Wednesday. He’s expected to do so at a ceremony at the school along with teammates Jabari Brown (Oregon) and T.J. Taylor (UC Santa Barbara).
