Alhambra receiver Trevor Davis has orally committed to Hawaii next fall, the 6-foot-1, 165-pound senior confirmed.
“I really liked the atmosphere when I went for my visit,” Davis said. “I had the opportunity to meet the coaches and had a chance to attend their banquet and hang out with the team.”
Davis chose Hawaii over Idaho, which was the first school to offer him a full scholarship. Davis ran the 40-yard dash in 4.45 seconds, an improvement from the 4.6-4.7 range he ran last year.
“When I visited Idaho, I didn’t have a chance to meet very many people there,” Davis added. “Then when I met everybody at Hawaii, I felt the togetherness there like they were one big family.”
This season, Davis hauled in 43 passes for 876 yards and nine touchdowns as the Bulldogs went 7-4 this year, which included a 21-12 loss to San Marin-Novato in the first round of the North Coast Section Division III playoffs.

Hey Trevor- Congratulations! Getting a full ride scholarship from a top 25 team is a major accomplishment. Congrats to Alhambra’s Coach Hern and his staff. And thanks to you Trev, for four great years of thrills, chills and amazing catches at Alhambra.

Hawaii just seems like it would be an awesome place to go to school. Josh Slaats from Cal High went there on a baseball scholarship and loved it. He has since been drafted in the latest MLB draft. Congrats Trevor and enjoy. Hope to see you on TV.

Tedford got Kline for the class of 12. He’s reached his quota now for East Bay kids of that class lol. He will continue to try and recruit from all over the country and he will always get a few big names, but it seems like he will have a hard time building a complete team. Right now he has 10 commitments with two of them from Norcal kids. Stanford on the other hand is up to 21 commits I believe and it is a lot more difficult to recruit at the Farm.

I am bummed that we lost out on Davis to the University of Hawaii. Very surprised to hear his comments about not meeting many people here, I do some work with the athletic department and see recruits come through all the time and they meet a lot of people. But at the same time it’s hard to meet all the players on game weekends since the team spends the night in a hotel, and then is bussed in for the game and of course after a game many of them go back to their apartments and rest, but still surprising to hear that.

I have watched him play since he was in about the 5th grade. Nice to hear he is moving on to D1. If he adds 35 pounds to his frame, which is very possible at that level and shaves a few tenths off the 40, we could be seeing a draft prospect in 4 years. You never know!!
