The San Ramon Valley High boys basketball team will christen the school’s new mega-buck, long-awaited gymnasium on Dec. 31 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a set of drills involving the varsity and junior varsity players. People are invited to attend and check out the new digs.
The old gym was condemned three years ago, and the new gym’s construction was apparently delayed when they unearthed an Indian burial ground on the site. Thus, the Wolves haven’t had a true home game in three years. This season marks SRV boys coach and athletic director John Raynor’s 25th season.
The EBAL basketball season begins next week. The Wolves boys will host De La Salle on Jan. 7, in a showdown involving Bay Area powerhouses, and the Wolves girls will host Foothill on Jan. 4.
