That was true in past years R10. Carondelet was moved up to D1 this year due to a new rule, as they won their division at NCS 3 years in a row. If they beat B-High to win NCS D1 this year, then they’ll stay at D1 for another season. But if they lose, they’ll drop back down to D2 next season.

I thought they were in different divisions with B-High in D1 and Carondelet in D2?

I’m sure most knew what you meant. The referreing in yesterday’s game, as well as the free throw shooting was absolutely attrocious. The calls were not all against Carondelet, as many errors went their way as well. Both teams were in foul trouble and some were real head scratchers. Just not a real clean game. Great crowd though. Berkeley won fair and square and was ahead and controlled most of the game. These teams are so well matched that their anticpated 3rd game in March in the NCS finals really could go either way. These teams have played 64 minutes of basketball against each other and there is a 1 point difference between them. Was that you at the scorer’s table next to Eric Gilmore?

It looks like I forgot the words “kind of” in my chat comment about Carondelet between the words “same” and “team.” Carondelet lost two very key players from last year, so they are obviously not the same team!

Wow Stephanie, you are good! The Jackets did win by exactly 3, and in large part due to Brittany Boyd playing a consistent game:

“Stephanie Hammon: Since this game is at Berkeley, I’ll take the Jackets by 3. I think Brittany Boyd plays a more consistent game than she did last time. I also think Berkeley was a little surprised to see that Carondelet was not the same team they had faced the last two years.”
