Chabot Hall of Fame

Zack Papachristos, the founder, builder, fundraiser and chair person of the Chabot College Hall of Fame, will be inducted himself into the Chabot Hall on Saturday night at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Union City.

Tenney (Meritorious Service); Palmer Lee (Meritorious Service); Giants World Series champion outfielder Nate Schierholtz, Luke Cherry, Rusty Kawachi, Derrick Landavazo, Mark Riddle, JJ Varney (Baseball); Brian Keith, E.J. Costello, Matt Muniz, Kevin Sweetwyne, Anthony Shavies (Men’s Basketball); Tashiba N. Long, Teresa Patino, Tiffany Haywood (Women’s Basketball); Brett Haagenson, John Willits, Lance Butler, Tim Davis, Tony Ventimiglio, Buffalo Bills wideout Steve “Stevie” Johnson, ex-Oakland Raider Darryl Byrd, George Sponsel, Karl Logan, Steve McCoy (Football); Garrett Larson, Dustin Wayne, Carlos Corona, Josh Williams (Golf); Arthur Portocarrero, Curt Cox (Men’s Soccer); Jessica Bender (Women’s Swimming and Diving); Dmitry Dzyuba; Justine Liberato, Kristin Kummer (Women’s Tennis); Gary Kerr (Men’s Track and Field); Michelle Beebee, Denniece Cuthbert (Women’s Track and Field); Victoria Cayetano (Volleyball); Saul Nava, Samuel Sotelo, Clark Conover (Wrestling).

This marks Chabot’s sixth induction class, and the first since 2006. The class is large because the college only started the Hall of Fame in 2000 and has a lot of catching up to do.

    Brett Haagenson is one of many intellectuals responsible for motivating me to become an English teacher. He is still missed to this day by many, many people. One of the best teachers to have ever walked the halls of San Lorenzo High School. Thanks for the inspiration, Mr. Haagenson.
