Feeney switches to Washington

Pinole Valley’s Travis Feeney switched his oral commitment from Arizona to Washington on Thursday.
The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Feeney committed to the Wildcats in August, but visited Washington on Jan. 21 and felt it was the better fit. He’ll be looked at for both safety positions as well as outside linebacker for the Huskies after Arizona was recruiting him to play cornerback.
“I just got the feeling (Washington) was the place for me,” Feeney said. “The coaches were awesome. They’re always going to look out for you.”
Feeney also liked the academic programs at Washington better, but said it was tough calling Arizona to let them know he changed his mind.
“It was hard, I’ve been thinking it over,” Feeney said. “I really decided Wednesday and on Thursday I said, ‘I’ve just got to make the call.’ It’s just the right thing to do.”

Smart kid. I’d much rather play for Sark than Mike Stoops.

I think washington is going to be amazing in a couple of years. I would go up there and play for Coach Sark in a heart beat. USC North.

Coach Sark is putting the UW back on the map. He has everyone believing they will return to the UW of the 80s and 90s. Once people realize how to stop Oregon, UW will be ready to win the Pac 10 North.

    Go Bears!
