Mack’s Taiese to Washington State

McClymonds High offensive lineman Wendell Taiese has committed to Washington State, choosing the Cougars over Arizona State.
The 6-foot-6, 360-pound Taiese visited Arizona State over the weekend before deciding on Washington State, where he visited three weeks ago.
“The academic program was oustanding,” Taiese said. “I know (Washington State’s) going to be something big and I want to be a part of it.”
Taiese is already anticipating Apple Cup meetings with McClymonds teammate Marcus Peters, a defensive back who is headed to Washington.
“I get to play against one of my best friends and tear his head off and not get yelled at by the coach for it,” Taiese said.
Taiese said he’s being looked at to play guard or tackle on either side of the line. He anticipates playing guard as a freshman and sliding over to a tackle position by his sophomore year.
