Tickets for O’Dowd-Castro Valley, part deux

Part deux? The rematch? Whatever you want to call it, the most anticipated boys basketball game of the regular season is likely the round two Hayward Area Athletic League showdown between Bishop O’Dowd and Castro Valley on Thursday, Feb. 17. It’s the final game of the HAAL season for both teams and, assuming neither team loses another game, it will decide the league title and automatic berth to the NCS playoffs. That’s significant moreso for earning home games than making the playoffs (both will be among the top seeds regardless).
The good news is the game has been moved from Chabot College to Cal State East Bay to accommodate an even larger crowd. The schools are still anticipating a sellout and are currently conducting a presale for tickets to the games. The girls play at 6 p.m., followed by the boys at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Castro Valley High student union and finance office or through the Bishop O’Dowd athletic website. Tickets will not be sold at Cal State East Bay on the day of the game. Passes will not be honored for this game. General admission cost is $6, students, children and seniors are $4. Attendees must also purchase a parking pass upon arrival at CSUEB at the parking meters.

Since the date of this game is not listed above, I’ll just let people know it is scheduled for next Friday, February 18th.

Wow, I’m slipping Prep Fan. But actually the game is Thursday, Feb. 17. I edited the post to include the date.

It was the first question I had and figured most would want to know the date, so I checked MaxPreps and it said the game was 2/18? I just checked again and they still have it listed for 2/18. Thanks for the clarification.

The original schedule had it on Feb. 18, but it got switched to the Feb. 17. I’m guessing that probably has to do with the venue change to CSUEB.

You sure 17th Jimmy? East Bay doesn’t have a game at home on the 18th. Also, why does the O’Dowd site not let me get tickets? I can’t find where to get them

Yes, I’m positive it’s the 17th. I confirmed that with O’Dowd. As for the tickets, if you go to the O’Dowd web site and click on athletics, there will be a yellow ticket down the right side of the page. Click on that and follow the link to purchase tickets. I just checked it out and it’s there.

It took me some time to find the area on the BOD website for tickets. Here is the direct link below. They’ll have the tickets waiting at will call at the game. Should be another great game.
