Why did they give Oak high, CV gm way n freemont . Sold out

Big gym and CV likes playing there. Now 15-0 in the last four years in that gym. Any bigger place like Cal State East Bay would’ve cost CV a lot of money. The school has to pay to use the gym, with no chance to recoup funds since Washington gets the snack bar and I assume parking money and CIF takes the gate money.

What are the early predictions on the DI boys final? To me, it’s hard not to like Castro Valley this year..

I side with Scl Alum on that one.

I am stunned, though somehow not surprised, that BANG has failed to mention, never-mind report on, the El Cerrito boys’ basketball remarkable victory over top-seeded Sacramento on Saturday; no report, no line score, nothing that I can find. Do you ever fail to have a reporter on hand for any DeLasalle or SRV event of any type – field hockey, wrestling, basket-weaving? Maybe the Gauchos should allocate some of their extravagant athletic budget for PR and golf for managing editors, or whoever.
Only one of many reasons you lost my paper subscription over the past year.

    Mongo82,
Since the game was in Sacramento and we had a ton of games locally that soaked up our staff, we had to rely on receiving a brief game report from our friends at the Sacramento Bee.

That did appear in our NorCal boys roundup. Here’s the link: http://www.insidebayarea.com/high-school-sports/ci_17604606

We didn’t receive a full box score from the Sac Bee, so we couldn’t run that. It has nothing to do with what school was playing and everything to do with where the game was located. If DLS had been playing Sheldon in Sacramento, the scenario would’ve been the exact same.

Rest assured that this week’s game will be covered. Keep an eye out for a preview of the game in Friday’s paper and a story in Sunday’s paper.
