No More High School Soccer from the Academy Players.
This ruling handed down straight from Claudio Reyna, Head of USSF. Bummer for many kids. But the focus on the Academy play for 10 months will be helpful for their play.

I have had the pleasure of watching Eli Padilla play soccer over the past 6 years. He is an execptional soccer player — always has been. He is also a member of the San Jose Earthquakes U16 Academy Team. Continued success.

Matt, GREAT JOB covering and summarizing the season.

BTW, saw the Santos v. Mustang club rematch on Monday, and while the Mustang squad won convincingly 2-1, Rivas was very creative and dangerous as the forward-mid (v. his positioning at Cal). I did not see Foster at the match.

From a comparative standpoint, at the club level with age, speed and size equivalence, possession/touches are much more evident with 4-8 touches the rule (respect from each defense), and the speed of the game is 2%+ faster with fewer dumb fouls. Very entertaining.

Glad to see Cal is very well represented, especially in the first team area. What matters big time is that the three players who made the first team list all looked out for a different place in the game (Pagliuca on offense, Danielson on defense, Rivas in the midfield). Even though Rivas wasn’t very statistically savvy, he is on the list because he anchored Pagliuca and Danielson, the offense and defense together. And Fagenson had his back every step of the way while being a valuable asset statistically, so he is third team. Congratulations to all others as well, especially those who overcame undeserved adversity.
