When is Moreau Catholic going to get some love? At 14-4 you would think they would at least get a couple votes. MaxPreps and CalPreps rate MC ahead of several of these teams (including Albany, Alhambra, El Cerito,O’Dowd and Mission SJ). In the Atwater tournament last week Moreau knocked off 3 Division I schools with good records. 2 of their losses were to O’Dowd and Arroyo, bigger schools with outstanding programs. O’Dowd was lucky to walk out of Moreau with a 1 point win.

Moreau doesnt play anyone compared to teams like alhambra. Amador, acalanes, or el cerrito. All teams that have more votes than moreau

The Truth – El Cerrito, please. Look at the Alameda Contra Costa League, there are two good teams the rest have losing records. Moreau plays Acalanes May 19, if Moreau wins that game will you be convinced.
Triton8 – sorry, one run is what I should have written.

NCS is a total joke. 5 divisions…16 teams make the playoffs…not even enough teams with winning records to prevent byes. Should be 8 teams in each bracket.
Was 16 teams with 2A and 3A….now it is like 3 divisions 1,2, 3 and teams with pathetic leagues qualify with their league records and overall losing records.
NCS, you are a joke…A total money-making joke.

A win is a win. Dont get me wrong but Moreau is a good ball club but you have to look at HAAL and the bottom teams in that league. They are not good at all. El Cerrito has played, Berkeley, Alameda, St.Marys, Alhambra, San Marin, Liberty, and Albany. All very good and high ranked teams minus Liberty and Berkeley, but they are both good D1 teams. Hence El Cerrito being ranked. Not to mention they were D3 runner ups last year.

Well, the HAAL just got a lot more interesting. Castro Valley just beat BOD 5-2. Narahara out pitched Ross. Friday BOD plays Arroyo at BOD. Go Dons!

Eagle eye said it best. come play in the ebal or dfal and then say that moreau should be ranked ahead of amador and acalanes and alhambra. cal preps has the haal ranked 8th out of all the ncs divisions. and their non league schedule is below .500 you cant say that there league is tough

CV should not be at 3. they dont play anyone. they play good baseball but not the best in the east bay. they have a core group of like 4 guys that do it all

The Truth,
Since you love Cal Preps how about checking out how Cal Preps rates the NCS Div. III teams:
http://calpreps.com/2010-2011-boysbaseball/ratings/North_Coast_division.htm#III
As you can see, Moreau is ahead of Albany, Alhambra, El Cerito,O’Dowd and Mission SJ. Moreau is just behind Acalanes. The Rating takes into account the strength of league and schedule. All I am saying is that Moreau should be mentioned with those teams and in the poll above. We will let the playoffs decide who is the better team.

Moreau has a decent team, but does not have any quality wins against teams from this area. Their 2 best wins are against Buhach Colony and Pitman, not exactly teams that the local writers are familiar with. If the Mariners can beat Narajara from CV or Ross from BOD in league play, then they’ll certainly get some respect from the voters. Splitting with Valley Christian of Dublin, and beating the likes of American, Kennedy, San Leandro, Mt. Eden and Hayward don’t exactly stand out as accomplishments. They should do well in the D3 playoffs, but should beat some good local squads before cracking the top 15.

Moreau is garbage. Simple as that. Beating Tennyson, Mt Eden and Hayward. BFD.
The HAAL may be the worst league in the state. Even BOD has NO quality wins. I mean like NONE. They have Joe Ross and NO ONE ELSE. They even lost like by 9 runs to Acalanes who is an average DFAL team.

Report from the Alameda-Berkeley, 2-1 in 10 innings. According to the Berkeley folks, Alameda won when its leadoff hitter Brandon Woo, who walked, scored from 1st on a sacrifice bunt! He took 2nd on the bunt, took 3rd when no one covered 3rd and scored when the catcher tried to cover 3rd and he beat the throw home from the catcher to pitcher late in covering the plate.

Arroyo beats BOD 7-2! Go Dons.
