peters from mack didn't run- tech sprinter ran instead. south speed too much for the north- smchs relays looked good, both the top from the ncs. pardini girl copped both the 100 and 200, took the long jump also- last time someone at state won 3 individual events? she is most likely going to Stanford.
Prep,
I'll go out on a limb and say that Frazier will clear 7 feet this weekend to place in the top 3! My last projection is that Wilson will win the 100 over Cox from Poly. Watcher, DLS is going to have to run the perfect 4x100 in order to compete..too much speed in the South. St. Mary's 4x100 boy's team is peaking and should get in the mix. Let's hope the rain stays away on Saturday. See all you track fans in Clovis!

Good Luck to the Nor Cal athletes heading to state! Looking forward to seeing the football players that run track. Always a good way to warm up for the upcoming season. Gotta go all in with DeLa's 4x100, Frankie S. has been getting faster and stronger all season with Mister gone watch for Frankie to step it up this year in football.
Barton is a great high school story in the making but, could one of the CC Times reporters give us some ink on Michael Stupka at CVHS an exceptional young man with a great and inspirational story to tell. Looking for him to bring it in the 400!

Peters' time in the 200 did not meet the OAL state meet qualifying mark of 22.50. From what I could find, Peters' best mark in the event was 22.60. You don't need to run the OAL qualifying mark at the OAL meet, but have achieved it at some point throughout the year and it doesn't look like that happened. (For each event, OAL competitors must not only win their race, but meet an set time or mark to advance to the state meet. So you won't see an OAL entry in every event.)

I also found it odd that Peters wasn't listed in the program for the 100. I texted his coach to see if Marcus was scratching and he replied that Marcus is running in the 100 at state. So I have to assume at this point, there's something incorrect in the program.

Interesting about Peters. Well, good luck to all the East Bay track & field participants. We'll certainly be missing the twins from Granada this year. I hope Cal junior Noel Frazier can improve upon his 5th place finish last year in the HJ.

Prep Fan. I know that about Peters. He is not listed nor entered in the official CIF race in either event. The 100 shows Oakland Tech Lewis being the OAL rep at 11.11. He is not listed nor entered in the 200 according to the list with no OAL rep entered so far.
The St. Mary's NCS winner must have strached due to 100 and 2 relay entries. That leaves 25 entered in the 200. The events are finalized by Tues and the program printed by Weds. If anyone wants to know about track, ask cuss I am the most informative expert out there except Keith Conning and Hal Harkness.

Hey Jimmy,
Thanks! I live in the South Bay, therefore my CC Times exposure at times is limited to the website. I did see Sunday's print edition today and noticed the coverage. Much more than the Merc that's for sure! We are lucky to have you and the rest of the CC Times team covering Prep Sports, including track. Appreciate it and keep up the great work!

S1lverngreen,
We've covered basically the same amount of track this year as years past. Maybe not a lot of coverage on the blog, but in print I'd say it's been the same. Phil Jensen is our track guru and he's had good notes in our Tuesday notebooks all year long. Phil and I will be heading to Clovis this week. I'll try to get a thread going while I'm down there with some stuff, although with how hectic track meets can get it's not always so easy.
