30Q-2-KICKOFF (No. 30): Are you ready for some football?

We’ve finally hit question No. 30 on our journey to the start of the season and we’re going to keep this one short and simple?

Are you ready for some football?

I think it’s safe to say all of you will answer yes to that one. The season kicks off tomorrow with Cardinal Newman hosting Concord at 7 p.m. Then it gets going in earnest Friday with a solid slate of games, including Bellarmine Prep at De La Salle at 7 p.m.

There’s not a ton more to say until that first kick off. Hopefully this years come even close to as good as last season was and we hope that we can do what we can to make it fun for you to follow. Ben and I will be back doing live chats, hopefully getting started with those next week. We also expect to do our Pigskin Geek videos again, hopefully with a debut episode next week also. Much of that will depend on the schedule of our staff, but we’ll do whatever we can to make high school football more enjoyable for you folks.

I know I’m ready. I know Ben’s ready. And I know everybody else is ready, so let’s get this football season kicked off.

Cardinal Newman vs Concord – What a great game to start the year off with. As much as I like Concords offense I think they will struggle against CN defense. The spread air attack is playing right into there hands with them rushing 3 and dropping eight into coverage. I like CN offense as well but Concords blitzing scheme on defense will keep them in it early but it wont do enough for Concord to win.
    CN wins 35-21

  • Mandown…You pretty well covered what had to be said about the Concord/Cardinal Newman game…But i don’t think Concord will score 21 against CN’s defense…But they could fool us and make CN sweat….All the guys are wired for the kickoff…plenty of good games to see…

exciting match up here concords offense vs cardinal newman defense will be fun to watch. concord will have to try in get deep on the corners because they plan one of the best zones in the bay. cardinal newman runningback #2 is the truth you got to wrap him up looks like he put sometime in the weightroom. Qb is tough also must get pressure when they throw or he kill them my prediction cardinal newman 35 concord 26
