Bishop O’Dowd defensive lineman/tight end T.J. Daniel Jr. has made an oral commitment to Oregon. He committed Sunday morning to Oregon defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti.
The 6-foot-6, 240-pound Daniel Jr. said that Oregon is planning to play him at defensive end. He also considered Oregon State, Washington and Cal Poly before choosing the Ducks. He has not taken any official visits, but is planning on taking one to Oregon.
“Oregon was one of my favorite schools and I always wanted to be there,” said Daniel Jr., who also punts this season for the Dragons. “They were in the national championships last year and their legacy was winning, and I wanted to be part of competing for national championships.”
Daniel Jr. also said that he is still planning to play basketball for O’Dowd this upcoming season. He was a solid contributor off the bench for last season’s California Interscholastic Federation Division III state runners-up.
