The Holiday Classic, the football game pitting East Bay stars vs. Sacramento area stars, is seeking nominations for this year’s team. Nominations can be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. The information needed is name, school, position (be specific, they want to know if he plays LT as opposed to RG, so don’t just put OL. Same with differentiating safeties from corners, rather than just DB). Send stats, if available, any offers or interest received from colleges, height, weight and home and/or cell phone numbers to reach the player at. Again, those nominations can go to email@example.com.
A couple newsy items related to the Holiday Classic. This year’s East Bay team will be coached by Monte Vista’s Craig Bergman and his staff and joined by Foothill’s Matt Sweeney and former San Ramon Valley coach and current Cal athletic director Dave Kravitz. Also, as has been promised, the game will be played in the East Bay this year. The venue is still being determined, but it will be Friday, Dec. 23. The idea is that the game will rotate every year between the East Bay and Sacramento, but it will depend on how much support the game receives in the East Bay. So consider this the East Bay’s shot to show that it will support the game and that will determine if they’ll continue to rotate sites.
