I’ve officiated a lot of high school games and AAU as well at all levels and I’ve never heard of a game going 6 overtimes. Incredible effort by both teams! In twenty years these kids will still be talking about this one.

Here is the full box score from today’s Times. I couldn’t help noticing that Skyline played yet another overtime game last night, losing to host Granada by a single point, but that was “just” 1 overtime. So 7 OTs for Skyline in 24 hours.

I also took note of a kid named Tyler Charrette for Berean Christian in the box score just above the 6 OT thriller who scored 46 points and pulled down 14 rebounds and dished out 8 assists while hitting all 22 of his free throws in an 83-75 win over Hoopa Valley. That is very impressive – I don’t care who you are playing.

Phil, you’re right. Santa Teresa managed to stay in the game with all 5 of their starters and their 6th man fouled out of the game. And they were a missed 3 point shot away from forcing a 7th overtime. Give both of these teams credit for a hard fought game. Santa Teresa is a team 14 players deep. They weren’t going to run out of players for another overtime or so. The amazing thing for Skyline is that none of their players fouled out in a game that went that long. I wonder if there was a foul disparity in the game. But regardless of those issues, it was an incredible game. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of or seen a game that has gone 6 overtimes ever at any level of basketball! What a night! Hats off to both teams in this game…

Prep Fan, that reminds me – Santa Teresa had six players foul out of the game. As far as I could tell, they still finished with five players on the court.

Wow, that is pretty incredible. The kids won’t forget that one anytime soon. The fans certainly got their money’s worth in that one. I remember a few years ago Salesian playing a 5 OT game in some out of state tourney where a bunch of guys fouled out and they may have even finished with less than 5 players. 6 OTs is a new one on me. That’s like playing 2 games in a row, especially considering how much pressure there is in a tight game for the last few minutes of regulation and each of the OTs.
