De La Salle reportedly to play Mullen-Denver next year

Fellow MediaNews Group paper The Denver Post reported earlier today that the De La Salle High football team will host Colorado power Mullen-Denver next season. The report said that the Spartans would host the game, but that has yet to be confirmed by De La Salle. Games against Bellarmine-San Jose and St. Mary’s-Stockton are already confirmed for the Spartans 2012 season.

De La Salle athletic director Leo Lopoz did not comment on Monday, saying the Spartans are focused on this week’s state bowl game against Westlake.

Mullen is one of Colorado’s most successful teams of late, having won Class 5A championships from 2008-10. The Mustangs went 9-3 in 2011.
