One didn’t even make third team. Small school syndrome I suppose.

I don’t know all these girls but at least an Albany middle Amber Erhahon is mentioned here. In EBAL all-league, Foothill’s Fiona Lamont got an honorable mention nod but should have gotten more recognition than that, being in on 96 total blocks and 2nd in the league in hitting percentage at .285 (per MaxPreps at least).

I agree that the DVAL was down, but Vestal from Berean was also an amazing player and could have been even higher then 3rd team if her team had beaten out NG for the DVAL title. When you have 2 league MVPs on the 3rd team, you know the 1st and 2nd team players were all outstanding.

But first, congrats to all of the girls. I’ve seen nearly every one of them play and they’re all very good. No quibbling there. Having said that, the DVAL was not as strong as in years past, IMO. That’s all.

At least she was a league MVP and led them to a DVAL title. All these girls were fantastic on the court this year and deserving of the accolades they are receiving. While one could quibble about a 1st vs. 2nd team or 2nd vs. 3rd team selection, all the girls mentioned above are worthy and there are only so many spots to go around. Matt watched a lot of volleyball this year and I’m sure he saw a lot of great players, but can only name a select few for this honor.
