Livermore High football star Damariay Drew received a scholarship offer from Cal on Wednesday but has not committed, according to Cowboys coach Greg Haubner. Drew (5-11, 193), who rushed for 1,291 yards and 17 touchdowns last season but is being recruited primarily as a safety, will be visited by Oregon coaches on Thursday and is planning a visit to Washington next weekend, Haubner said.
Drew runs the 40-yard dash in the high 4.4s. He led the Cowboys in tackles last season, averaging 7.9 a game.

Who? No one from USC has ever heard of him.

Congratulations to Mr. Drew for attracting well deserved attention from PAC12 schools. He was great fun to watch this season. CAL needs to step up the effort and seal the deal.
Hey #1 MoreNC???whatever. If USC has never heard of Mr. Drew, who cares? That just proves that they are a clueless program (any surprise there with what’s his name at the helm?), while Sarkisian is knocking. Get a clue and tell AD Mr. Haden that THE SARK got away, so throw back the chum(p). DOH!

Cal recognizing local talent, glad to see that! Drew is a great athlete, hope he stays home. Coach Lupoi is on a mission this year. Congrats Drew, I am sure there is more to come. I am also hoping the Bears pick up commiments from Hooper and Hutchings next year!

I understand that you enjoy trolling around and insulting Cal in favor of USC and that’s your prerogative. But to slight the accomplishment of a young athlete by being so dismissive is really uncalled for. If you want to tease old Blues and get under their craw – fine; but please leave your insults to adults and let’s try to remain hands off of the kids. Thanks.

For a while Tedford had gone away from the East Bay for recruiting. Glad to see he’s going back to what he did when he first arrived at Cal, trying to keep the local kids around.

Drew, Barton and Nickerson-3 hard hitting, fast, football players with great instincts. I like where Cal’s defense is headed. Gotta have that speed to keep up with the Ducks. Trojans are on the decline… Capt kiffin is killing them slowly.

Maybe Tedford is trying to keep his job by staying local.
