MLK Classic ticket info

Had a couple people ask me for ticket information for Monday’s MLK Classic at Haas Pavilion, so here it is.
If you want to get a jump on buying a ticket and save some money, the De La Salle bookstore is selling tickets at $7 for adults and $3 for students and seniors.
If you want to buy them at the gate, it’ll be $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. There is also another option this year, an all-day chairback seat for $15.
You’re on your own for parking in Berkeley, but if memory serves, Monday is considered a holiday and meters are not running. Check the City of Berkeley website before you go though.

Chairback seat? Does that mean they’ve raised the ticket price for all good seats to $15? No more general admission except up in the nosebleeds?

That could be but I would think the proper reference would be “lower reserved seating”. Not sure what the “Chairback” seat means, either way $10 for 6 good games is a nice deal considering 1 game is $5-$7 depending on the league. Any multi-game shootout is at least $10 or more to sit on wooden bleachers and the facilities and competition are no where near as good as this event.

No doubt it’s a premier event. Hard to top that lineup of games. Its just tough to watch the prices of everything soar. Are they selling the lower reserved seating at a discount at DLS or can you only get those at Haas?

Got to the bottom of it. The “Chairback” seat refers to the club level (2000 seats) which are on the side of the court behind the benches. Those are the $15 seats no discount on those. Can still sit down low in Cal Student Section opposite from benches (holds 1600) or behind baskets, should be plenty of good seats available for $7 or $10.

Where can I find the schedule of games for the MLK Classic at Haas ?

Ben, I checked the City of Berkeley website and found they are not enforcing parking for tomorrow.
“Meters are not enforced on the following days:
New Year’s Day, January 1
Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Third Monday in January…”
