Wow they sure did have to go back in and remove Campo from the girls bracket, which altered a lot of the matchups:

The exact same thing happened last year in baseball with Antioch, as they weren’t eligible, but the crackerjack seeding committee didn’t realize it until the bracket was already made out and posted. They had to go back in and make the changes after the fact, just like this year’s Campo issue. There is no excuse for that kind of sloppiness. And we are supposed to have confidence in their seedings? That is pretty sad:

The winner of Salesian/M'ville gets to face the St Mary's juggernaut of Green, Mauldin and Cowling. I can think of more fun ways to spend a saturday night.

Both teams in that game are already into NorCals. NCS can save $ on the bus, declare both teams co-2nd place and just give SMB another banner

Yeah, that 6 hour drive up to McKinleyville takes a lot of out a team. And in mid-week to boot. At least Sage Romberg isn't still playing for the Panthers as she has moved on to Washington State. Salesian most likely has the better team, but that darn home court advantage in a 3rd round game is a back breaker for a trip like that. First though, they need to win 2 games to get there.

I did confirm with Salesian coach Stephen Pezzola that Mariah Williams, a sophomore who transfered from El Cerrito, is now eligible. She'll play in Salesian's first round game with Healdsburg. I still say St. Mary's (who recently got Taylor Berry back) is the favorite. I wouldn't be shocked if Salesian pulled off a win in the title game, though. As the saying goes, it's tough to beat a good team three times. However, the Pride will likely have to go up to McKinleyville and win in the semifinals and that be just as challenging as facing St. Mary's on a neutral court in the finals.

Carondelet girls shown they can play with athletics team when they played st marys from stockton at the MLK classic this year. Even though they lost they showed they can hang. Berkeley is the clear favorite in d1 and BOD girls are good again to. But san Marin girls and Miramonte girls are proven to. and maybe could give a BOD girls some issues. In d4 my favorite to win is saleains girls. Loaded with young talent and hopefully their tranfer is cleared to play for playoff action. Even as good as st marys girls are and they did beat them twice i think with mariah williams maybe getting cleared for action can be the difference marker in winning the the d4 this year. d5 is open but st joes girls should handle businness
