The Castlemont High girls basketball team is the No. 1 seed in the Oakland Section playoffs after winning a coin flip this afternoon, Oakland Section commissioner Michael L. Moore Sr. confirmed. The Knights and Skyline finished the Oakland Athletic League season tied for first and are co-champions. Both Castlemont and No. 2 Skyline have first-round byes in the section playoffs and will host a semifinal game next Thursday. The first-round girls basketball matchups on Tuesday are No. 6 Fremont at No. 3 Oakland Tech and No. 5 Oakland at No. 4 McClymonds. Both games will start at 5 p.m.

Here is my preview for the semi-finals. This post will be updated after Wednesday to preview the NCS finals.
UPDATE: It was determined on Monday that Campolindo is not eligible for the postseason. The Cougars do not meet the NCS criteria of having more wins than losses in their overall record, division record or league record (11-14 overall, 6-6 in league, 6-6 in division). So the Cougars have been pulled out of the bracket and the teams seeded below them all get a bump up. Check below for new pairings.
