I’d say Alameda, then Berkeley, and then everyone else. Alameda should take it pretty easily though, Berkeley might steal a match but I doubt they’d win a tiebreaker.

Hey Matt, no problem, Berkeley just took down De Anza in 5 without their top two players. Apparently they’ve got someone who’s been injured or ineligible or something, and they’re picking up a foreign exchange student from Europe who should be very good.

Re: R Deleon. I understand your points but every year, Matt has to go through and explain why “Beyond” teams are not part of his ranking. Matt is doing what his boss is allowing him to. Maybe you could write to the head of CCCT and ask them to expand Matt’s roles and responsibilities with more $$$. If you want to see where SPSV ranks in NCS, go to North Coast Volleyball. It covers all NCS teams. Also does Valejo has their own newspaper? Maybe you could write to them and have them do the ranking for teams in the area.

Why not add SPSV to your rankings? All their games, tournements and league play are with schools that you recognize on your list. I’ve seen the argument about Drakes recognition during the NCS last year, but they play the majority of their games outside of your ranking list. It is tough enough for these boys to work hard at their game against larger D2 and D1 and have relative success without recognition. How can you legitimize your ranking leaving out a team that has played aginst your ranked teams and put them as a footnote?

Berkeley just opened at 2-0 in league and they’ve got a new coach and the most size and talent in the ACCAL. From what I understand they had a rough transition in preseason but they blew out El Cerrito and Richmond easily.
