There are always two sides to the seeding. Side 1 is what the committee sees, which is strictly and objectively based on the records. Side 2 is what we see, which is the back stories to the records. We see momentum, when key players were injured or otherwise absent, when tournament schedules favored one team over another, when teams are peaking. The committee doesn’t. That said, I don’t recall their boys volleyball seeding being THAT far off the last 4 years.

Well, we’re all hoping that the committee gets it right, but it’s certainly not a sure thing. If the committee is anything like the NCS football or basketball committees, there will be some serious head scratching done once the brackets are released. I’m confident in saying that Matt has a much better handle on things than the committee will. But we can always hope they’ll get it right.

XXX said it right. I think that Campo is a stronger team than Drake, and should be considered the favorite. The committee likes head to head and might give Drake the top seed, but I think it should be Campo based on the entire body of work. Campo has to be considered the favorite.
They are the clear cut No. 2 team in the NCS, and I would like to see how they’d matchup with De La Salle.

I have seen both teams played during the season. Yes Drake beat Campo early in the season at their tournament. I think Campo realized after the lost that they could not take any team lightly. Since then, they have proved themself to be a powerhouse in D2. Campo have challenged themself by beating MSJ, SPSV, CP, Acalanes (2x). speaking of Acalances, they are a very good team. They might be the finalist in D2 if they land on the right side of the NCS bracket. It would be good to know how the voting process like and do they really send out people to watch the games that truelly reflect the teams and not based on W/L. What factors do they considered beside head to head and how much of the weighted in their selection. We will see in a few weeks.

Hey Matt, with Campo’s win against SPSV, the team that was the clear cut number 2 in NCS before their loss, do they now take over that spot? And, more importantly, are they the favorite over Drake to win the D II tournament?
