Sure enough, SRV won the revenge rematch with the Dons last night. That means the EBAL right now has DLS at the top with a sterling 12-0 record, followed by SRV & Cal at 9-3, and AV at 8-4.

MVALfan, you don’t want to know what the committee bases its decisions on, trust me. You may see a few coins sitting on the table if you peeked in. Or maybe a few people sitting there scratching their heads wondering why they didn’t follow the action a little closer this year?

Cal took down #7 Amador tonight in 3 for the second time this year. AV beat SRV in 3 the first time around, and SRV has beaten Cal 3 times this year. Everyone matches up a little bit differently with each other. Look for SRV to gain some revenge on the Dons the 2nd time around though.

I agree about the most recent stuff. I’ve wondered if the seeding committee decides the same way. Or if they just say, offsetting win-loss vs common opponents, what else. Would’ve been interesting to sit through one before the shut the door.

That’s a good point, MVAL fan, but rankings are based on more recent stuff, and the Ponderosa common opponent is very recent.

On the ranking of MSJ vs SRV, another common opponent besides Ponderosa is College Park. MSJ beat them at Foothill. SRV lost to them in an early season non-league. This coming SRV Invitational should sort that out.
