K.C. Waters, an incoming senior at Bishop O’Dowd High, has given a verbal commitment to the Cal women’s basketball program.
The 6-foot-1 forward said she chose the Bears over Tennessee and UCLA. Waters averaged a double-double as Bishop O’Dowd won the Division III state championship last season and was named the 2012 East Bay Girls Basketball Player. She was also Cal-Hi Sports’ Division III player of the year.
Waters and Mercedes Jefflo, a wing from Centennial-Corona, are the first two players from the class of 2013 to commit to Cal.

Congratulations Kendall! Good choice. Cal is a great school, and a degree from Berkeley will serve you well. The Bears’ program looks to be in good hands.
