I’m confused about your comment, saying I didn’t mention Kyra Holt for the East Bay team for 2012? I haven’t even mentioned the East Bay team. She made the team in 2011, and will most certainly be a player of the year candidate this year.

I wish you could shed some light on what you meant. I haven’t even started thinking about all East Bay. In fact, I’ve only mentioned one player and it was the top returner on the team I ranked No. 1. That’s it.

I certainly think Holt is a great player and you’ll be hard pressed to find someone who thinks she’s better than I think she is.

I have to agree with the above post. Albany was the class of D3 last year, and they return a huge amount of talent. Kyra Holt is the best player in Norhtern California, and they are the team to beat. Period.

I am sure that you have researched all of your picks for the East Bay Volleyball teams for the 2012 fall season but the games have to be played by all of the players. I wish all teams and the players the best. You made no mention of Kyra Holt outside hitter of Albany High School: NorCal M.V.P. , All State, and All American/All Tournament at 2013 Junior Olympic just to name a few. The records states that she is the top hitter in the East Bay. The Albany High School Team is working very hard to duplicate or surpass their efforts from last year. Where is the acknowledgement and or love for our team and players We reside in the East Bay.

DFAL: Last year I predicted the DFAL would be a 3 team race (Campo, Miramonte and LL) and that no team would go undefeated. Campo played better than I expected. LL was the bigger surprise. They struggled until late in the year and then finally found their stride. This year it will be a two team race. Campo and LL will be fun to watch.

EBAL: Last year I picked SRV. It turned out to be quite a dogfight between 4 teams. This year the EBAL is the best league top-to-bottom. I’ll give Cal High the edge.

I think you’ve got Albany ranked too low…that is going to be one VERY tough team. Plus, they have the confidence of KNOWING they are good after making state finals last year. Kyra is a beast!

Las Lomas is going to be very good and when all the EBAL teams start knocking each other off, Las Lomas will move up in the rankings. I’m sure of it.
Jake, I agree in the sense that the DFAL will be a battle with those two teams.

Oh ya, I forgot the BSAL is gone. The teams have gone into different leagues, with most moving to the new Tri-County Athletic League.

FYI, the BSAL is no more. The league has reorganized into the TCAL.. Salesian will be a contender again this season. Although they graduated eight seniors, they have a young talented group lead by the best libero in the Bay. MC has a new coach as well and they’ll be a strong club this season too.

Las Lomas returns a ton of talent. I still stand by my prediction that Las Lomas will win the DFAL, if Campo’s setter is playing or not. But this will be settled on the court, not in this blog!
