Oh Boy….. I think Durkin probably hit it on the head in post #2. Scheduling conflicts probably lead BOD, De La and SI to not be involved as you said its hard to believe that they weren’t on the shortlist when the games were being scheduled.. Its suppose to be an annual event so maybe they can get on those teams earlier and lock them in for year 2.

Either way its a great Idea, the line up looks great and I will be in attendance. It would be good to at least see De La Salle and BOD in it the following year.

Where is O’Dowd? Where is De La Salle? Where is St. Ignatius?

I love this idea and this will be great (especially Salesian-Mitty). But when I’m thinking Bay Area catholic school basketball you have to include BOD and DLS.

Looks like a great field! I could actually see myself coming at 3pm and staying till the 7:30 night cap. Im Sure CSEB will sell out for that one!

6 to 9 of these teams all played in the Catholic Athletic League at some point in the history of the school.

And I only know 2 of the schools did not compete in the C.A.L. at some point.

It would be great to actually have a 3 day tournament every year with DLS O’Dowd Salesian Mitty Serra etc.The best 8 programs.The problem is one good team would walk away with 3 losses and 3 good teams would have 2 losses.The way everybody is so concerned with the post season,the possiblity of all those losses probably eliminates some teams.Sad because this would be the best tournament in Nor Cal.

My guess is perhaps De La Salle’s schedule was already full between their own tourney, playing in the Fab50 Gulfshore Invitational in Florida and the MLK Classic. Speaking of the MLK Classic, it looks like Salesian and DLS will go head to head in that showcase in the 5:30 game.
