pitt was running the ball well on power, iso, and trap plays. however, crajon menefee #23 left with an injury who was breaking 3 dls tackles every play, pitt keeps doing power i formations with 2 300 plus pound d tackles at fb’s

You guys are giving PlayOn too much credit. They usually only have one camera. Official Replay is not happening anytime soon

no, de la salle beat college park to break the previous record of 77 games in a row, they beat pitt in the ncs title game for 151 in a row

Great season by the Jets. What should of been a 1-9, 2-8 at best turned out to be a great year. 3-4 seniors fought their hearts out & laid a hell of a foundation for the future. Don’t really like offense the coaches are running now(what happened to split backs staple of Encinal football) but could be their best job yet. Might of edged out the 2007 from 2-8 to 9-3. This year was suppose to be pretty bad.

  • FB Guru

Congrat’s to the Analy Tigers. Campo made a valiant effort and had a chance to pull it out at the end, but Analy was just to much. That’s the best I’ve seen Zolintakis play.

  • MiraMan

Congrats to Analy on moving on and Campo on a great season. Frankly, I thought Analy should have beaten Campo by 21 if they could cover anybody. Don’t get me wrong, Campo has some great kids coming up and will likely be a hand full next year. But Analy had the team to beat the remnants of this Campo team easily and just kept letting them back in the game.

Pitt came to play for a half. DeLa put out # 22, 25, 23, 77, 10 and others. lots of hard DeLa hitting. I think # 20 on DeLa proved who the best back in the game was and the top back in the ebal even if DeLa is not in the league and also one of the top backs in East Bay, QB Williams also had a great rushing game- over 100. DeLaSalle LB Hutch was hitting like a USCer!

  • Old Former Meddling Coach

Tip of the Cap to Cardinal Newman. They were the better team tonite. Thank you for a good season Jets! and thank you Seniors! Looking forward to a great season next year. Jet Pride!

  • Old Former Meddling Coach

Bluedog, Final was 40-14. Jet Pride!

  • http://aol YoMama

come on old meddling- CN the better team tonite- how about CN just the better team period- it was 40-00 at one time.

  • Patrick

Good job tonight, Encinal. With the exception of one frustrated young man at the end, the Jets showed great effort and class to the end.

Go Cardinals! Let’s get number 12!

  • http://aol BigDog

Pitt Kir- you said DeLa needed to knock the F out of Pitt, well did they? I counted the entire Pitt backfield knocked out at one time or the other during the game.

  • http://aol BigDog

He MV EBALers- Pitt beat MV 55-29. DeLa beat Pitt 35-13, add 22 and that’s 48-00 vs. MV. Pitt back got 239 yds vs. MV, vs. DLS he got 62.

  • Junior

Pitt is a heck of a football team. Very physical, tons of athletes. Kids played hard. I said earlier in the year this was the best Pitt o line since the 2008 team.

Huey is the most physical player I have seen since Dylan Wynn moved on.

Congrats on a great season. Pirates deserved a better seed.

  • Prep Fan

Pitt was a heck of a team. Some might say the #2 team in the Bay Area, but not many. They got a chance to avenge their bad loss to MV, but 8-4 and 2nd place in the BVAL just isn’t up to Pitt standards. They might have been able to beat Cal or Freedom or even DLS if they played them again, but most of the time you only get one shot at a team in HS football. I’m sure Pitt will be a force again next season, and will be motivated to beat teams the first time around.

  • http://aol BigDog

Prep fan, let’s not get carried away. Pitt would not beat Cal, Freedom and especially DLS if they played them again. They are one dimension on offense, not a passing team, stop their big backs and they are done. They might hit hard but they give up a lot of points.

  • KIR

I’m still here reppin Pitt! Anyone who attended the game at DeLa saw that we gave them all they could handle for nearly 3 qtrs. we didn’t capitalize on DLS fumbles then with the game 14-7 in 3rd qtr we made them fumble and got hosed. The DeLa coaches admitted it wa a fumble. After that we gambled on 4th down and the wheels feel off. We went there to win and feel short. The gap is closed are team full of juniors played with the best team in NorCal and went blow for blow. Can’t wait for next year it’s on!!

Big Dog all 3 of our RBs were hurt coming in. DLS didn’t knock anyone out of shit. 25 didn’t play but 5 snaps, 23 was 60% and 22 a sophomore ran his ass off.

DLS backers congrats on NCS nobody left in these playoffs can touch you. You beat us in 2nd half. But damn Winton Dr was quiet 1st half at least give me that.

  • http://aol BigDog

Kir- giving Pitt credit-got it- closet game Pitt has played DeLa in over 15 yrs. I saw all of Pitt’s backfield leave the game injured from hits at one time or the other- you said in earlier posts DeLa would have to knock the F out of Pitt to win. Carting off a half dozen Pitt players looks like hard hitting to me and the rest of us on the DLS sidelines. Number 22 had 62 yds on 23 carries- just for the record.

  • KIR

Big dog. Not gonna argue with ur opinion. But if you want insight. Injuries were already there. The fact they played at all shows the heart. 22 ran for 83 ur stats are wrong. And 23 ran for 109 on a bum leg in 2 qtrs of play.

    Run tell dat

  • http://aol BigDog

Did those injuries come from the MV game? # 22 ran for 239 against MV he got injured? Didn’t say Pitt had no heart- but when you have players leaving the game not under their own power that says the defense was hitting. Pitt showed a lot of poise in the first half but when DeLa went up 28-07 in the 3rd, that was the ballgame. Hats off to Galli, he had an excellent game plan for a half. My stats came from the Times.

  • Island Chief

40-0 at the half. Cardinal Newman was being exceptionally generous not to put 50 on Encinal. Tenorio probably fed his team some baloney on how “they never gave up” and ” we won the 2nd half”, ” if we only played the 1st half, like we did in the 2nd half we would have won”. Can’t wait to next year. You can use those same speeches after the island bowl.

  • http://aol YoMama

Encinal will win the island bowl next year so cool yur jets island chief- however Coach T should have put on a jockstrap on and passed out towels and lumpias after the game in the CN lockeroom.

  • http://aol BigDog

Crawley, you got anything crawling around up there?

  • http://ibabuzz.com Reggie Hammond

So proud of the Encinal players & coaches to be able to scrap a 7-6 season out of this team. The talent was not there but some how to get a winning season out of this was truly amazing.

No doubt best coaching job ever by Coach Tenorio & his staff.

  • Old Former Meddling Coach

Island Chief, I’m Happy For you and just glad now u can finally let it go. YoMama, We lost the game. And CN WAS the better team. Played way better than us But i’m just not ready to crown them team of the milenium just yet.I’m Just proud of our kids at Encinal! They didn’t quit! Jet Pride!

Well, unfortunately, Analy exposed Campo’s secondary last night in our worst case scenario. Campo had no answer for #6 Maher, who is by far the best receiver I have seen in NCS with apologies to Williams of Miramonte. As I suspected, the running game for Analy was not the issue last night as anytime Analy needed a first down they went to the air. Missing Mason Windatt in the secondary was too big to overcome for Campo.

On the positive side, Campo has now lost only 3 games the past two years (24-3), all to undefeated teams, and all by 5 points or less. Campo didn’t miss Stephens too much last night as Zolintakis had the best night of his career, throwing for more than 350 yards & 4 TDs. This on a night Campo only rushed for 30 yards. Analy knew Campo was going to throw the ball and Campo had big play receivers to catch them.

The big plays in the game were a fumble in the red zone by Campo in the 3rd quarter and an interception in the first quarter, both leading to possessions in which Analy scored.

Campo played from behind the entire night and after finally stopping Analy late in the fourth quarter, took over at midfield down by just the 4 points. However, after two first downs, Analy held Campo and turned the ball over on downs with Analy running out the clock for the win.

Campo returns more than 2/3 of all their starters next year and will undoubtedly be the prohibitive favorite for next year in the DFAL. Great season Campo.

Thought I’d post this here too! lol

To all the people on this blog and the article from the Times saying Pitt only played one half of football….I just saw this link on Facebook of the play that should’ve been called a fumble and should have been run back for a TD. This was in the 3rd Quarter. MAJOR MOMENTUM SWING! Notice the O-Line false start btw at the begining. Also, hurt ankles and knees do not usually result from hard hitting. Head, neck, shoulders… yes! #23 and #25 were actually hurt against Antioch, reinjured against MV, and couldn’t quite go last night. The “SCer” Hutchings had his lid peeled at least 3 times last night. BVAL MVP Antonio Huey was the best player on the field last night!

Left the Miramonte-Marin Catholic game early in the 3rd quarter after Miramonte had thrown their 5th interception of the game, this one for a pick six. This made the score 45-6 MC. The final ended up being 59-6.

It started well for the Mats as they scored the first TD of the game on their first possession; a 5 yard pass and an 75 yard run for a TD. Unofortunately, that was all the good news Miramonte would have for the day.

Curiously, Miramonte didn’t look for WR Williams much at all in the first half and he had single coverage most of the time. Too many passes were thrown into coverage and the MC secondary, knowing Miramonte has no running game, were just licking their chops. The 4 interceptions in the first half could have easily been 6. Unfortunately for Anderson, he looked like this was only his 5th game as a starting QB. He is still a talent and should have a good year next season as long as they can replace Williams with other good receivers.

In the end, MC did what they were supposed to do and now look forward to next Saturday afternoon hosting Cardinal Newman in a holy war.

  • http://ibabuzz.com PERKIN

CN vs MC is gonna be a hell of a game.

  • http://aol YoMama

Pitt was smoked like a honey ham in the smokehouse.

  • Island Chief

Old meddling coach, it’s not that the jets didn’t quit. It’s that CN quit. They apparently quit applying gas to the pedal. Don’t put any bs up here like Encinal didn’t quit. Those Encinal players are not dumb they know they were spared a more embarrassing loss due to the religious convictions of CN. They showed mercy on the weak team and their diisheveled coach. See you next year.

  • http://bluedog2 bluedog2

RedandBlue…..I guess Miramonte just fell apart or nothing went right after there only score…I would have never expected MC to beat Miramonte that bad..a complete surprise….thanks for the infor…I have to work and missed last night and today’s action…..
