These are the early rankings. Just giving people something to chew on. … There will be some fluxuation in the rankings after the Tri-Valley Classic. Berkeley did beat California 3-0. Not sure what happened vs. Clayton Valley in the ‘jackets season opener. Anyone have an update on O’Dowd in the Santa Ana tournament?

I know it was early in the season, but didn’t Berkeley lose to Clayton Valley? A team who has managed just 3 goals in 9 games? It seems to me that its a bit early to claim a crown I am sure BOD is solid, but cmon man….better than any ebal team?

The Yellowjackets always seem to have good skill, but have struggled in NCS. You have to go back to 2007 to find Berkeley advancing past the first round. They appear to need that breakthrough win in the postseason. Once that happens, they might really take off.

Berkeley outplayed BOD ( better possession, more aggressive, better overall technical ability). The lone goal was on a 30yd free kick that the goalie got a hand on. Credit BOD for the result but they looked average. Still the favorite in D 2 though.

Campolindo beat Dougherty Valley 2-1 to go into the winter break 4-0-1 in the DFAL and 6-0-2 overall. Campolindo tied CP 2-2 in a non-league game so the ranking of CP and Campo at #10 and #11 seems reasonable. Campolindo’s team is mostly the same as last year’s team that lost to BOD 1-0 in non-league and 2-0 in the NCS semi’s. Saw that BOD beat Berkeley 1-0 yesterday. Campolindo plays BOD in a non-league game on January 14th at BOD. Should be a great game to watch. Maybe Matt will check it out.

For those who think Livermore is ranked too low — and I know you’re out there — you might be right. But you can’t completely ignore those few little blemishes on the Cowboys’ record. I will reflect on the rankings and monitor closely any future scores, and will adjust accordingly. If you think I’m off my rocker, feel free to chime in.

Thanks DVAL Future Fan. I was very impressed with O’Dowd last season. Although I haven’t seen them in person this year, I’ve heard lots of good things. I see they’re playing in the Excalibur tournament in Santa Ana rather than the Tri-Valley Classic.

Thank you for posting your early rankings. I totally agree with the O’Dowd team being ranked #1. I have seen these players compete in HS/Club they are very good, young and well coached.
