CVCHS scored on a late corner kick to beat CP 1-0. The keeper for CVCHS is very athletic and did a superb job stopping shots all night from attacking Falcons. The goal was one of the few opportunities CVCHS had in the match. CVCHS defense made it count by playing a full house in the box to protect the keeper. The two teams play again in the season finale Feb. 5th.

YV is a top team in the DVAL. They remind me of the 49er’s in the 1980′s “Sooo many weapons to beat you”. plus their keepers can make very athletic saves. I noticed after the CPHS game that their player stats had typos in them. The final score was 3-0 CP but it shows 3 YV players scored 5 goals.

Actually YV has played a very solid schedule of mostly NCS bound Div 2 teams. Game against College Park for 1st place coming up on Thursday. IMO a way better game than Las Lomas vs Northgate. Bonilla is a really fun player to watch.

Ygnacio valley is doing very well and had a mixed schedule. They tied saint Marys, who knocked them out of ncs last year. In fact, Yv was dominating and through a goalie mistake, they gave up the tie
They also went 4-0 in the Tri-Valley classic silver division against Antioch, Acalanes, Deer valley and Mission San Jose.
Best rivals Northgate and Clayton Valley, which is accomplishments in itself
Not saying they are number one in the area but they are a proven team at the moment

I went ahead and added Ygnacio Valley to the also noted section of the rankings. The Warriors are 11-2-2 overall and 3-0-0 in the DVAL. They haven’t played the toughest of schedules, but 11 wins out of 15 games is pretty solid. We’ll learn more when they face College Park on Jan. 3.

Hmm … Looks like Las Lomas and Northgate will be a competitive game. Both teams hovering around .500 overall: Las Lomas is 1-2-2 (DFAL) and 2-2-2 overall and Northgate 0-2-1 in the DVAL and 5-4-3 overall, according to maxpreps.com.
