Boys Soccer: Twitter account

By Matt Smith

With the blog not allowing comments, I started a Twitter account to have a fallback in times like these.

So please follow it at @mattsmithsoccer
I’m sure we’ve missed a lot of comments, scores and stats so please feel free to catch me up today with everything on Twitter.
I’m sure there are some scores that I’m missing.

LIVE! From The Tak in Fremont, its Kennedy hosting Newark Memorial. 0-0 after 10 min.

Where is everyone? Must be tailgating, HAH!

  7. The Sweeper Says:

OK, my mistake as the loyal fans are filling the stands. Tailgating lives at The Tak.

    0-0 after 30.

  8. The Sweeper Says:

0-0 @ the half. Kennedy keeper is doing a good job feeding off shot after shot. NM is showing some impatience. And there are no propane heaters in the stands. They must have used up during the tailgating…

    Live from The Tak.

  9. The Sweeper Says:

NM scores, 1-0 with 23 left.

Was a bit disappointed with the comments being down. I wanted to report that Edgardo Cuellar made his comeback for Irvington on Wednesday. Irvington looked like a total different team with him on the field. Completely dominated the ball against Washington with him on the field. Unfortunately his is still a bit out of shape and could only play about 15-20 minutes a half.

Once we came out of the game Washington slowly started to get back into the game. Their #10 Edgar Cerna is also a quality player. I’d rank him just below Montoya of Logan and Sandoval of Newark. He played a great ball to set up Washington’s first goal. Second half was pretty even until Washington received a penalty in the final 10 minutes, very unlucky bounce for Irvington resulted in a handball. All and all Washington deserved the victory, but I’m excited to see Mr. Cuellar make his return, I hope he can slowly be able to play more and more.

When all is said and done I would pin down Washington and Irvington as the best chances for 3rd in MVAL. Irvington seems to play down or up to the competition, with all of their ties. Washington looks like the favorite to come up 3rd and possibly make NCS.

I’ll be at Newark v Irvington tonight to see if the Vikings can pull another upset against the Cougars!

  26. Bobo Says:

Berkeley 2 Castro Valley 1. CV played a strong second half, good game.

  27. Jose Says:

    Howd Newark and Irvington do?

  28. Jose Says:

    Logan 5 American 0

  29. MVAL Soccer Fan Says:

    Newark 5 – Irvington 2

Irvington outclassed. Missing quite a few starters according to their coach but Newark clearly dominated.
