Another Contra Costa College football player has made an oral commitment, as wide receiver Ronald Butler is headed to Utah State.
“I just talked it over with my mother. I was wasting time sitting on it (the decision), so I just went ahead and did it,” said the 6-foot, 182-pound sophomore.
Butler, an all-California Region III selection, caught 55 passes for 870 yards and 13 touchdowns for Contra Costa College last season. He was also an all-Bay Valley Conference selection and was named the Living Breath Foundation Bowl Offensive Most Valuable Player after catching six passes, including two touchdown grabs.
On his official visit to Logan this month, the weather didn’t faze him.
“It’s cold over there, but I’m from New Jersey so I’m used to the weather,” said Butler, who played at Lincoln High in Jersey City.
Butler said he was impressed by the academics and the team when he met them on his visit.
