Alhambra’s lacrosse team just forfeited their last game to Miramonte. I heard maybe it related to some sort of altercation at the Campo or Dougherty Valley games. It may have even included people in the stands.

I mention this for two reasons:

First, I’d like to know if anyone knows what happened. I mean, they are certainly forfeiting, but everything else is just heresay. Anybody hear anything?

Second, even I could appreciate the irony of discussing safety problems at OAL games at the same time the DFAL may have had a regular Donnybrook right in the stands at a lacrosse game!

The problem with OAL starting later is that they wouldnt be able to fill a 10 game season because most non-OAL schools will have finished non-league and have entered league games. The only way that could work is if they played 2 non-league games and played certain OAL teams twice to fill the schedule.

one way to fix the OAL football (teams with terrible rap sheet of forefitting games fremont, o high, castlemont) problem would be to start their season 3 weeks later (week 2)than NCS teams. that way they can get their stuff together. they dont play NCS playoffs anyways so it wouldnt hurt anything. That way is better they should go straight into league (4,5 games) then fill out the rest of their schedule the best they can. that would give them a better chance of fielding JV teams too.
