Ex-Amador star Borchard boosts Columbia

Amador Valley High graduate Nicole Borchard is enjoying an impressive freshman season at Columbia.

She has a .346 batting average with two home runs and 17 RBIs in 24 games played for the Lions, who are 11-13 overall and 1-3 in the Ivy League. A three- time all-EBAL infielder, Borchard was 3 for 4 with a grand slam  and five RBIs in a 6-0 victory over Rider in the Rebel Spring Games  in Kissimmee, Florida.
