Logan’s Bua headed to UC Davis

James Logan High linebacker Ryan Bua, a first-team All-East Bay selection by the Bay Area News Group, has accepted an invited walk-on offer to play football at UC Davis.

The 6-foot, 200-pound Bua was a force in the middle of Logan’s stout defense, which helped the Colts go 12-2 and reach the North Coast Section Division I title game. It was Logan’s deepest playoff run in 15 years.

“He is the hardest worker and has the highest integrity and character that I’ve ever coached,” Colts coach George Zuber said.

Anyone hear how the SPARQ combine at Laney went? What Bay Area kids stood out?

  • I heard Jalen Harvey and DJ Calhoun from EC, Joe Mixon from Freedom and Keelan Doss from Alameda had very good camps. I’m sure there’s more, anyone else ?

It is good to see 3 Cal High kids on the top 100 list. #8 Sr RB Blake Bierwith, #38 Sr QB Cameron Owen and #83 Jr RB Ryan Groleau.
