Jason Maratsos, who helped put the Livermore High girls soccer program on solid footing, is stepping down from his position as Cowboys head coach. Maratsos said on Tuesday he is moving to Marietta, Ga., on July 13 to accept a job promotion.

The much-improved Cowboys girls soccer team finished 7-9-4 overall last season and 3-7-4 in the tough East Bay Athletic League, including earning a 0-0 draw with eventual North Coast Section Division I champion San Ramon Valley and splitting games with NCS runner-up Monte Vista.  Maratsos’ passion for the sport and tactical knowledge helped the Cowboys draw rave reviews from other EBAL coaches.
