Holy Names U. step closer to Division II

Holy Names University has moved a step closer to becoming a full member of the NCAA Division II.

Dennis Jones, NMU athletic director, was informed by the NCAA on Friday that HNU will advance from year one candidacy to year two candidacy for NCAA Division II membership, in what is at least a three-year process. A  member of the NAIA, the Hawks compete in the Pacific West Conference.  HNU looks to have full membership in NCAA Division II by fall 2015.

Cal State East Bay competes in the Division II California Collegiate Athletic Association.
