Nodar leaves St. Mary’s High for administrative position

St. Mary’s High boys basketball coach Manny Nodar has left the school for an administrative position with The Olympic Club in San Francisco, he confirmed today.
In 11 seasons leading the Panthers, Nodar had a 255-100 overall record and a 105-29 league record. His squads won four league titles, three North Coast Section Division IV titles and three California Interscholastic Federation Division IV Northern regional titles. He was also St. Mary’s athletic director for six years and taught Spanish at the school.
Nodar is now the director of youth basketball and women’s league director for The Olympic Club, he said. He also is overseeing the club’s AAU basketball program.
“It was an opportunity for me to professionally grow and do something different,” said Nodar, 43. “I will still be able to be around basketball.
“I felt I had reached about as much as I could do for the St. Mary’s program and it was time for someone else to take it over.”

He will be missed. Really cared for the kids and I wish him the best.

  • Better coach than an AD. Averaged 23 wins and 9 losses per season at the helm. Thta’s one of the most successful BB coaches ever at SMCHS.
Some coaches and alumni didn’t like him- rude and came off too strong. genuine prick but very good coach. Needs to set up office in the castro.

Great coach and person. One of the best AD’s I’ve ever worked for. Congrats to him moving on. Always supported the coaches.

  • who is taking his place? a hard act to follow with his record. Why did he resign?
