EC not the team second best in EB like a lot of fans thought huh?

  • Old Former Meddling Coach

What can i say, Serra was the better team. Gotta tip my hat to them but I don’t feel so bad knowing the Island Thief is crying in his milk over their loss. Jet Pride!

  • PERKIN

pez, was “the ghost” in uniform?

Pretty cool how adults are having such a fun time with a kids injury? You think he’s likes watching football games from the sidelines? Because one blogger is spouting off about him doesn’t mean he needs to get any crap for it!

  • Pez

Dude, you are really uptight! The coach in an interview mentioned the kid would be playing, but so far he hasn’t been seen. Our curiosity is natural and its BASED ON THE COACHES COMMENT!!!!

    Lighten up!

No he did not appear to be dressed. And frankly it could be injury, grades, transfer, disinterest…I don’t know, I just know he didn’t appear to play.

macy ur a got dam genius

  • Old Former Meddling Coach

    Agreed!

Grades? Transfer? Disinterest? Try an ACL tear! You gotta be kidding me….

I would have to say based on seeing this kid once, that Anderson, the QB for Miramonte is the real deal. He’s got a rifle! Kind of reminds me a little of Goff when he was a Jr at MC against Encinal in the semis. Miramonte is really good. The only thing I thought was that they looked kinda small up front on both sides of the ball. Reminded me of a couple years back when Tenorio ran them into the ground in NCS. A big test for them will be if they play a big, physical running team. Not sure if Analy was like that or not? I would love to watch the ball in the air in a Mira/Campo game later this year.

    EB,

That’s the point! Folks tell me he’s really good, he’s got offers, he’s the real deal, but I’ve never seen him. I see some stats from his Soph season year before last, but nothing since. How does he get offers if he doesn’t play? Has he gone to camps, did he play in some scrimmages, will he play some this season? That is my question. If someone says he’s still injured or suffered some setback, well OK, but no one has said that. Do you personally know that?

I very much doubt a kid gets solid scholarship offers based on a soph year (in a B league with solid, but not elite stats) that hasn’t resurfaced to show he is healthy and can do it consistently.

The history as I understand it is his ACL injury was during a scrimmage LAST SEASON…over a year ago. He should be healed unless he’s has some setback, but that’s not what the coach said in a pre-league interview. Now he has offers! Based on what?

I think my confusion and curiosity in understandable.

Excuse me for being uptight. I just get pissed when some grown adult thinks its ok to question a 17 year old kid about the authenticity of his injury, regardless of what high school he is from or what side of the tunnel he comes from. His status is his families business, not yours. And you don’t have any right to know as well. I don’t know him personally, but I do know that he is a really good kid that gets great grades. I also know that not playing is killing him. When he comes back is his and his family’s business. He doesn’t owe you or anyone an explanation.
As far as his offers go, you’d have to go to a recruiting site to find that out I guess. Probably just some State schools I bet, huh?
Just like RedandBlue said a while ago, you should check your facts before you blog like you know something. His soph year would not have been in what you call some “B” League. Go do a little research.
The same way you seem to group everybody around here as Island Chief, I think I will do the same for Miramonte now. Damn, I hope Miramonte sees Encinal in NCS AGAIN!!! Too bad too, because I like Schram…..

  • Pez

EB, You sound like a twisted-up bundle of anger. Most of what you attribute to me is either taken way out of context or totally made up, but if it makes you feel better to “vent” then great.

By the way, when I said B league I was referring to the old ACCAL and I’m pretty comfortable with my comment.

My last comment, then you can have the last word if you wish, is that I look forward to seeing the kid get back on the field quickly. Godspeed!

how can a chicken teach an EAGLE to fly?

Lots of respect to Campo. They always realize their potential.

It’s still early. The rankings are mostly based on the reputation of the school and it’s coaching staff from previous years used to determine the starting record. The general consensus around CV was that they were on an upward trajectory after last season. Let’s not trash the beat writers for trying to put something together for a bunch of old timers to pass time and talk about. I’ve always seen the earlier polls as a catalyst for discussion instead of a manual anyway.
