really lets keep listening to the rankings they had CV at a top ten team and they are now 1-5 one of the worst and most overrated teams in the eastbay Please lets wait until october to rank teams

They overrated MV at the beginning of the year and therefore overrated Castro Valley’s win. I agree it was an oversight, but at this point it has sorted itself out as neither team appears in the rankings. Find something new please.

There has been a Hameed sighting, and guess what? He looks bigger, faster and stronger than before! In very limited time he showed that he is back as a TOP player and a very big recruit! He will only get better as he trusts his new knee more and more! Welcome back!

    Great news!

Cal looked very ordinary on offense against Granada Friday night. The defense looked a lot better than earlier games but they’ll need to do a better job on the O line as they go in P-town to face the resurgent Dons this week.

Congrats goes out to Coach Billeci. With the win over Granada, he became the winningest head coach in Cal High history with 36 wins; passing Tony Sanchez with whom he was tied with 35.

…. as varsity football coach. It’s doubtful he will ever near the Cal High all-time leader Bill Hoefs. Ten years at Cal football (frosh/jv) AND baseball (frosh.) Football alone he has around 80 W’s. Add Baseball and he’s probably over 250. Cal football has had a very nice run the past decade after Sanchez resurrected a dead program.

Congrats to Coach B as Cal’s winningest varsity football coach. Hoefs has put together some great frosh and JV squads over the past decade.

EBAL Fan… you are correct in that Billecci’s record is as Head Coach of CHS; records at the Frosh or JV level are not generally tracked and certainly let’s not add baseball to the mix. The post was meant as congrats to Billecci for the job he’s done as the Head Coach of Cal varsity. Who’s to say he won’t stick around for a while an take his total to 100?
