Heritage High senior track star Frank Kurtz has orally committed to Stanford.
“That was my No. 1 choice by far,” said Kurtz, who also said that he also seriously considered Cal before choosing the Cardinal. He took official visits to both universities last fall.
Kurtz placed fourth in the 400 meters in the California Interscholastic Federation state track and field championships last year with a time of 47.14 seconds. He led the state in the 400 for much of the season and broke a 16-year-old record in the event at the Sacramento Meet of Champions invitational with a time of 47.03.
