De La Salle lineman Kahlil McKenzie was named to’s All-State Underclass Team as a junior for defense. McKenzie, listed at 6-foot-3 and 315 pounds, had 12 sacks and 74 tackles in 13 games this season and figures to be one of the area’s most sought-after recruits for the class of 2015.
Four East Bay players were named first team sophomores — De La Salle offensive lineman Boss Tagaloa, defensive linemen Alex Glover of St. Mary’s and David Letuligasamoa of Heritage, and defensive back Shurod Thompson of Pittsburg.

Kahlil McKenzie….great kid. Good student, good player, and down to earth solid young man. Parents and DLS should be proud.

I thought the most surprising snub was Antoine Custer from DLS. Had a big year for a soph on varsity starting both ways. The fact that they had Boss Tagaloa listed as an O-linemen when he hardly played on that side the last half of the year shows that they didn’t do much research on this list.
