Cal has not only beaten unanimous #1 Campo head to head, but has wins over #4 SRV, #5 DLS (perfect game), #6 CP, 8 Heritage (17 to 2), 9 Livermore, 10 Granada, 11 MV (twice), 12 Foothill, 14 BOD, & 15 Newark.
Campo is still looking for a win over a top 15 team, and lost this week to Alhambra to fall to 16-4.
Clayton has wins over #7 AV and #15 Newark, but has 2 huge games vs #6 CP next week.
All 3 of these teams have lost to St. Francis of Mt. View, as has #5 DLS.

Cal’s frosh reliever couldn’t hold a 4-0 fifth inning lead vs. SRV today, and the Grizzlies TWO hits on the day isn’t going to get it done come NCS.

  • EBAL fan

To be balanced, those four Es by the Grizz vs. SRV plus the two HBP combined to make a wicked 7th frame.

And SRV only had 4 hits. Pretty sloppy game for 2 top level teams, with 11 total runs on 6 total hits. On the other hand, that is opportunistic baseball in making something out of nothing. Both are now tied with DLS for 1st place and both play them one more time. Great drama.
