Scott Fisher has been hired as the new head men’s basketball coach of Ohlone College, the school announced Thursday in a press release.

Fisher was an assistant coach at the University of Hawaii the past four seasons. Prior to that, he was the head coach of the Perth Wildcats, an Australian professional team, for four seasons. Fisher is a Mission San Jose High graduate.

At Ohlone, he replaces longtime coach John Peterson, who was hired as an assistant coach at Loyola Marymount

Fisher won a pair of league Most Valuable Player awards and three league titles in a long career in Australia’s National Basketball League. In 2007, he was inducted into the NBL Hall of Fame. He also played at UC Santa Barbara and is a member of its Athletic Hall of Fame.
